Here are approach shots  for Erik, Bill, John, and Jonny on Hole #18 John,   Bill, Jonny,  Erik,

Let's not do this, please. You've clearly never seen @saevel25 on the first tee, after all. 😉 We all know "golf" and we all know that some of us will hit some good shots, all of us will hit some

Here's my first (final?) stab at groupings: Saturday @ Bedford Springs, 11:00: @iacas @Slim_Pivot @Divot Master Saturday @ Bedford Springs, 11:10: @Hardspoon

I am going to hit pitching wedge off the first tee now 😛

Might be good to club down a bit more, I would.

We have three tee times, at 9:00, 9:10, and 9:20. It sounded like we'd have plenty of room to add a fourth if necessary, but that gets us at least those twelve spots.

Not in any order:

  1. @GolfLug
  2. @iacas
  3. @Hardspoon
  4. @saevel25
  5. @DaveP043
  6. @DaveP043's much more winning half
  7. @woodzie264
  8. @billchao
  9.
  10.
  11.
  12.

How about it, @nevets88? How about it, others in the area?

Alright I’m definitely in. Anybody find lodgings yet? Richmond probably?

Yupp, Richmond will be your best bet.

If you want to stay somewhere a bit more fun and different than a chain hotel, this place is great:

Linden Row Inn, a historic hotel in Richmond VA, features Richmond meeting rooms ideal for banquets and meetings or weddings in Richmond VA, and...

I used to stay there four nights a week when I was (partially) living in Richmond for work.  I'd definitely recommend it if anyone is planning on actually exploring a little on Saturday evening.

I’m organizing a round the day before, Halloween, at the Old Course at Bedford Springs.

I have an 11:10 and an 11:20 time. I have four players now.

Space for four more. Would like to get to at least six.

Great course. You will enjoy it!

    • Okay I played 18 early this morning. First one out. They sent us off the back, as they had a middle school (9 hole) tourney going off the back at 8AM. I finished my 18 holes and went over to see where the middle schoolers were, and how they were doing. I watched them play a couple of holes. Every last one of them dragged their driver up to the teebox. Not neccessarily off the teebox, but always onto the teebox.  So, I was curious and asked one of the parents there. "What's up with dragging the driver?" The parent told me the kids had been coached to do that. When asked why I was told that dragging the driver to the teebox covers the face in dew. The idea being the wet driver face will reduce spin off the face.  "Does that actually work?" I asked. "No idea, but they've been told to do it."  A million things went through my mind.  Firstly, Is that legal?  Secondly, if its not legal, what kind of coach teaches middle schoolers to break the rules? I would think at middle school level you are just trying to get them to enjoy the game and play by the rules.
    • Love it!  Is that copyrighted or can I use that, too?
    • Almost played well today. Hit snaphooks off the tee on the finishing holes on both sides. On 9, hit a snap hook onto the 10th tee box. On 18 hit a snaphook OB, had to take the dreaded 3 from the tee.  I should mention the greens were freshly sanded this morning. I was the first to play on many of them. You could see neat little sand trails everywhere I putted.
    • I'm guessing whatever's in the USGA app would be totally legal.  Otherwise what a mess that'd be...
    • Interpretation 4.3a/1 addresses both paper and electronic versions.  Essentially, the scale on your device cannot be enlarged beyond the limits set, and the device may not indicate a recommended line of play.
