Here are approach shots  for Erik, Bill, John, and Jonny on Hole #18 John,   Bill, Jonny,  Erik,

Let's not do this, please. You've clearly never seen @saevel25 on the first tee, after all. 😉 We all know "golf" and we all know that some of us will hit some good shots, all of us will hit some

Here's my first (final?) stab at groupings: Saturday @ Bedford Springs, 11:00: @iacas @Slim_Pivot @Divot Master Saturday @ Bedford Springs, 11:10: @Hardspoon

Funny to see this place on here...

I lived in Richmond for almost 10yrs up to 2014 and played this course quite a bit until I moved to NY as it was my regular playing partner's favourite area course. Has some nice interesting holes and I certainly wouldn't classify it as hard. For a woodland course it does incorporate some links-esque feeling on some holes rather well!

Within a few miles of Royal New Kent there are several other courses of similar style; Brickshire and Viniterra being the closest.

The local CBS TV station in Richmond had a screaming deal each year where for $150 you got to play six local courses (including a cart!) and these three were always included. The first year I did it the River Course at Kingsmill (that was an LPGA tour course and former PGA tour course) was included and that would have been $180 on its own!

I still travel to Richmond regularly for work and see someone else here is a local but if anyone wants any pointers just shout.

Join us on November 1!

@billchao is coming from NYC area, and @nevets88 may be as well.

Unfortunately I'm already travelling elsewhere in the country, otherwise I'd be sorely tempted.

RNK is a skip from RIC airport...

My son and I are interested.  I gotta check with the significant other.  Also, my son just had his appendix removed, so he'll be rusty and sore.  But it ought to be fun, and I've heard great things about the course.

Two weeks is plenty of time to heal up. We'd be happy to have you!

Possible for me to bring a non-TST buddy? Not sure how that will affect numbers

Not positive he can make it, but wanted to get a feel from the group first

I think that’s fine as week-of additions. Put him on the waiting list if he’s able to come. Ideally it’s TST people.

Or get him to register and make a few posts. 🙂

    • Second entry; this time for second question.  My father doesn't play and I don't have any children.  My mother's father played when he was alive and well, but that was before I had any interest in the game.  I initially wrote an entry about rounds played in the afterlife (and that'd be the stat: rounds played), but while I meant it as a serious statement, I had trouble phrasing it to not sound like a joke entry. So here's the entry:  my good friend [name omitted] needs distance.  To some extent, he's the guy mentioned at one point in TST:  he won't hit it that far offline, and when he's within whatever an iron distance for him is, he's probably going to put it on the green, and once he's on the green, he'll likely be down within two putts.
    • Pretty hard for settings that are around infinity for the most part to be out of focus. Time for a new TV.
    • Jack Nicklaus has small hands and uses an interlocking grip.  Give it a try and see what you think.
    • Sandbox in the mornings might end up being a good thing. I’ve read some comments from people on the internet that say it’s a good way to warm up and get a feel for the conditions before you play.
    • I can't thank you guys enough, this looks great!  (I hope this is the proper use of the multiple dancing  banana)
