No new birdies tonight however closed out my league 9 with back to back birdies at 8 and 9. Lipped out the birdie at 7 I thought was in. Didn’t hit a GIR until 7.... took advantage of them tho. Took me a bit to get going after 2 weeks away from golf.

I've had between a half dozen and a dozen rounds at my home course this year;  part of that is I moved an hour away in 2019 and hadn't really explored the area.  I'll probably maintain club membership there because I like the group, and I'll look for one around my new home too.

I say that because in those 6+ rounds, I've yet to par holes 7, 9, or 12;  I have yet to make a birdie at the course either.  Best-ball score at the course so far in 2021:  74.

Earlier today, I played my third round at a course that might become my new home course, or at least my most commonly played course starting soon.  It's the second-closest (not including super expensive or private courses) to my house, an easy drive, and well within my price range.  After three rounds, I have a composite score there of 74, with two birdies in there.

On one hand, the new course is easier (lower CR/SR) and a bit shorter, but on the other hand, that's interesting.

Played a round early this morning, played crap but had an eagle on the par 5 12th hole. I hadn't even birdied it yet this year. Its a reachable par 5 in two if I get a good drive on the fairway, I had a 300 yard drive and hit a 6 iron to 2 inches off the green, made a roughly 20ft putt for eagle.

First non home course birdie today. Haven’t really played many courses other than the home course. #7 I hit a gap wedge in and wasn’t thrilled with it. Should have been closer than 25 feet I thought but managed to hole it. Feel good about life for a few min when you drain a lengthy one!

I had relatively short birdie putts at 11 and 14 today at WWGC, but neither would go.

My long birdie drought finally ended on Sunday. Hit a really long slice into the next fairway on No. 6, but hit a really crisp 9I 10 feet left of the hole. It was a funny little putt that started down and left and then up and right. Guessed right edge, hit it firm and it hit the back of the cup.

Reality is that I'm playing a lot more nine-hole rounds than 18-holers these days and that nine is almost always the front at Miami Shores. Probably just getting each hole on the front is the most I can really hope for at this point.

I’m in but as the par challenge. Gives me 5 months to give it a go. Tuesday pared 4, 15, 16 holes. Added my name to the spread sheet I believe.

Par challenge is a great idea for higher handicappers.  Heck, I still haven't parred all the holes on my home course yet this year (I hope to at least get that far by Sunday night).

If your handicap is 18 or higher, consider trying the no sevens challenge too, in the spirit of this:

Those are good ones too. I have actually had  a double bogey or better round this year. My lowest round this year is a 93. My major problem is the avg. of 9-10 penalties per round.

Improved my ringer score today at my home course.  Birdies at 3, 6, and 18 (first three birdies at my home course this year even... picked a good day to have them!) and pars at 7 and 12 (each of which were 2' or so putts for par).   Ringer score was 74 this morning, it is now 69.

Played pretty well at Stoneleigh with @DaveP043 yesterday and made 2 birdies, #11 & #17. #11 is new on the away composite.

10th round of the season on the weekend. 1 birdie on 11 and parred the last 2 holes I'd not parred yet. Up to 5 birdies and an eagle. Hope to get to 12 holes under par by the end of the year.

Got number 5 for the first time this year today. Playing alone on a random Tuesday I blew off working and went to play. Was sitting behind a 4 some for first 4 holes. They were slow but not unbearable. They let me play through on 5. Nothing like that feeling of having 4 sets of eyes on you. I managed to flush a 7 iron. It was all over the pin. Landed a foot past the hole. The birdie putt was maybe 10 feet. Managed to make it. That gives me 10/18 for my home course. I had a good birdie make percentage today. I hit 9 GIR and I converted 3/9 of them. Others were on 11. Reachable par 5. I missed short right and chipped to 2 feet. On 16 I stuck a 56 degree from 70 to about a foot for tap in. I birdie 11 and 16 regularly tho.

Played the other home course for me today.  Added another par to the score sheet.  The course itself is in the best shape ever - they have really worked hard to make this a fun playing course.  The greens were rolling smooth, even after being punched and sanded this week.  Even had to take a 40min rain break.  The course was drenched yet playable within 15mins of the rain stopping.  Of course cart path only rules were in effect after the deluge.

    • It's been a little more than a year since I can last remember hitting golf balls and today I just got my second cortisone injection in 11 months. I thought maybe shortly after the first injection I was going to be able to start playing again with therapy but the pain while doing my backswing past halfway just didn't subside like just lifting my hands up in the air did. So today the Orthopedic surgeon put more in the backside of the shoulder than before to address the tendon more. I'm going to try therapy for another 3 months and if I  can't swing the club without pain then I think surgery is going to be my next option.
    • I was just down visiting family in southern California and we played a couple rounds of golf. I hit my ball into the deep rough near some tree's and my cousin's husband offered me his Sim 2 Rescue Hybrid to try out. And I felt the same way, wow! I loved it, it also had a Pure DTX grip on it which I loved. As soon as I got back home, I ended up buying two used Calloway Rogue X hybrids, 3 and 5. So far I've only tested them out at the range, but I love them. They're much more forgiving than irons for me.
