Just saw the Monophonics.   Described as psychedelic funk-soul.   Great musicians.  Highly recommend if you like retro soul/rock bands.

Listened to Top of the World by Carpenters.   I know it is an elevator music but I needed to be reminded of the song once in a while after a rough day at work.

Listened to Top of the World by Carpenters.   I know it is an elevator music but I needed to be reminded of the song once in a while after a rough day at work.  

Yeah, many would scoff, but Karen Carpenter had one of the two most beautiful voices I've hever heard. The other is the Norwegian soprano Sissel. I couldn't listen to them everyday, but both are (or were, in Karen's case) great talents, and 100% better than most of the garbage that gets played on the radio today. Good call on your part!
