Infamous 'Swing Thoughts' Golfer

Recommended Posts

I remember reading an article (possibly in the 90’s) about a very very talented golfer that could basically make the ball do anything he wanted. It seems he never really made it because he had WAY TOO MANY thoughts in his head before each swing to achieve his perfect swing. Does anyone know the guy’s name?

Thanks!

You might be thinking of Mac O'Grady, but the truth is… he wasn't nearly as talent as you said, or else he would've won a bunch on the PGA Tour.

The average PGA Tour player has 2-4 swing thoughts any given week when they're playing. I think the average in a recent Golf Digest or Golf Magazine poll was like 3.2 or something.

    • if a 20 index senior were to get fitted for irons, previous using10 YO cavity back, what is a realistic expectation new tech would bring? e.g.  +7 yds distance from +2 mph clubhead speed less spin,  4 yd narrower dispersion assuming spending $1000 is affordable.... thanks in advance, mike

    • While I really believe a golf forum isn't going to change anyone's opinion about the vaccine, let me add a twist. There are several colleges that are requiring students to be vaccinated before returning to school.   Are they wrong?   If so, why do all elementary schools require vaccines for students before they can attend?   The coronavirus isn't something new where a vaccine was whipped up in a few weeks.   We all took polio vaccines to help eradicate the disease.   Mump and measles are heavily reduced until some people this past year decided not to get vaccinated and there were consequences.   I understand the idea of being concerned about something new here, but it's not new.   Science and the many, many thousands of hours of work of very highly skilled scientists have assured us of its effectiveness.
