New Life for PING Eye 2?

Recommended Posts

Hi, Anyone out there playing with Ping Eye 2 irons still?

I have acquired a set and would like to deloft these clubs 2-3 deg.

What are your suggestions for final loft specs on these irons?

Don’t. Just play one more club. And those are  Eye 2+ irons. So the wedge is 48.5° the sand wedge 53° and the lob wedge 58° the short irons are a little stronger lofted than the regular Eye 2.

Those lofts are appropriate for the technology of that time. Play them as they are. 🙂

I don't know much on club bending, but I did pull out my old Eye2 3 iron after Hybrid frustration. It has me thinking of going back to 1990s tech and reshafting the 5 that caused me to get new irons in the first place. Agree with the guys that said leave it alone.

You’ll mess up the bounce going 2-3 degrees.

I actually played a few rounds with the new lofts and haven't noticed any major bounce difference.

In my experience 2 degrees is safe, and 3 degrees may be pushing it a bit.
