Nope, the psuedo feud is the topic. Everyone will see the nothingness of it when they are paired together. Just the same, BD acts very childish. Imagine the interest generated for the PGA because of it.

Yeah right BK is acting so mature here.

That seems like a measure of how boring golf is when Tiger is not around.

Kinda. Tiger was in a sort of way a villain, though, as well.

Well it does take two to tango, but I haven't seen Brooks photobombing Bryson.

No he's just offering free cases of beer to fans who got kicked out of a tournament for yelling things at Bryson. That's worse than a photobomb IMO.

If only Bryson's ball would have come to rest next to a box of Ultras!

But Bryson doesn't offer the fans anything! How cheap can he be?

I'm not sure the Tour wants this kind of attention. Mabye they think any attention is good attention, but I don't know.

Then they shouldn't have dangled the $40M carrot in front of the players.

But if you're the PGA tour, why wouldn't you want this kind of attention? Like I've said before, it expands your audience. Keeps non-golfers talking about golf throughout the week. There are far more positives than negatives out of this for the PGA tour.

If the PGA Tour didn’t want this kind of attention I’m sure they’d find a way to shut it down behind closed doors.

I’m certain this is exactly what they want. They’re trying to reach a broader audience and part of that is showing the players aren’t just stuffy robots.

But they're two buff guys... makes me think they want to get into fisticuffs or the MMA thing.  Give 'em a ring, a referee and get it over with...

What’s wrong with robots?

I dunno. Watching two meat heads who probably have no idea how to fight isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I’d rather see them play some serious golf and really give the tour a show.

I would have to agree, as agile and strong as they are with a game of golf, they probably would look pathetic in a fighting ring. If and when they get their dup together that will be a good show. Although I think the media has hyped it beyond what it really is and would just be a competitive round of golf like most others.

"We agreed on something and he went back on it," Koepka said. "I don't have much respect for that."

Quote

I thought it was just interesting when he walked up to my caddie and told Ricky (Elliott) that if I had something to say, to say it to his face,” Koepka said. “I thought that was kind of odd, when you don’t walk up to my face, and say it to my caddie.”

He would seem to be referring to a conversation the two had during the 2019 Northern Trust at Liberty National. That came after Koepka had publicly called out slow players in an appearance on the Golf Monthly podcast. “I just don’t understand how it takes a minute and 20 seconds to hit a golf ball,” Koepka said. “It’s not that hard.” He didn’t call out DeChambeau by name, but it was widely seen as a reference to a European Tour video that showed DeChambeau taking an exorbitant amount of time to play a wedge shot. At Liberty, DeChambeau and Koepka spoke before their final rounds, and DeChambeau told reporters that he “just wanted to clear the air.”

On Wednesday at the Travelers, Koepka also suggested he and DeChambeau had come to some sort of agreement during that conversation two years ago.

“And when we had that conversation, we agreed on something and he went back on it,” Koepka said Wednesday. “So, if you’re gonna go back on your word, I don’t have much respect for that.”

It would be worse if he told them he would do that ahead of time, but that's not what happened.  The fact remains that unless someone was yelling DURING the swing no one should have been kicked out in the first place.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
