4 for my lowest 9 hole score of 33.  5 in 18 holes (not the same round) and only managed to shoot 76.  I've got skilz........

The one round I had five I had a 77, so don't feel bad.

I had 4 in nine. Of course, 3 of them were par threes(chip ins on 2). Of course the other 5 went bogey double double triple triple. :tumble:

Last Thursday I played the front like do-do and them went nutz !!!

Started with a bird on 10, then went bird on 11, holed out a green side bunker for bird on 12, then another bird on 13.

Then birdied hole 15 and final bird of the day on 17 after almost holing the approach for an eagle....

6 birds is a personal best for front or back side.

I just had this happen about a week ago actually.  Front 9 was something forgettable like +7 or 8 but the back 9 I started par, par, par, then birdie, birdie and I was once again thinking about filling out my PGA card.  Unfortunately I remembered how I play and finished with a par and 3 bogeys.  I'm pretty sure this is my record for the most birdies per 9 at 2 though.

I think my most birdies per 18 is 2 as well.  On a vacation a month ago I played 18 on a 9 hole course and birdied the same hole both times around which seemed a little weird.  I played 18 there the next day and made par on that hole on the front 9 and eagled (first ever) it on the back which was even weirder.  The hole really doesn't seem any easier than any other hole on the course.

  • 1 month later...
Our course is rated about 1.75 harder than other courses. As part of Halloween and the silly season, our club for this week, places pins in very "scary " positions on each and every green. All the way in back, in front, on a ridge, within feet of the fringe or simply in almost un putt -able areas. Not to be out done, the tee boxes are also influenced by Halloween. Yesterday I had 5 birdies , and missed on 2-3 more. The course played 6300+ yards with little wind! temps in the high 50s for most of the round. I shot 34 on the front and 36 on the back. The question beckons, what's the most amount of birdies or eagles have you scored in one round of 18?

Merged this thread into one of the many others we have on this same topic. Given your round, I probably would've talked about it too though....nice job! 5 for me, and still shot something like 73 or 74.

One, maybe 2. Never more than that. Ask about bogeys, double, or even triple bogeys, then I'm in business. Otherwise, they're few and far between for me.

Reading the poll question.........I disagree than an eagle should count equal to a birdie. LOL

This thread topic reminds me of a fun golf story!

I was in the midst of a blowup round as a serious case of "red @ss" bad attitude began to emerge.   I was standing on the 8th tee after butchering most of the front 7.............

8th Hole: plays 370-390yds..... a dogleg and multiple hazards come into the play from the tee.  Due to my good attitude, I opt  to attack an area short of the green that plays to about 40'x40' in size from my angle.   A large forced carry is involved, and any ball 10yds offline left or right is lost.  Missing right plays into a large deep ditch..........any ball left finds thigh-high prairie grass.   I hit my target and then proceeded to hole a 35yd pitch for EAGLE!

Next Hole:  517yd par 5......I hit a nice drive and then a rescue club stiff!   I then holed <1' putt for EAGLE.    This was the only time I've made eagle on back to back holes.  I don't remember my 18 hole score because it was a terrible round, but I will never forget those two holes!!  Fun stuff!!!

True dat! I probably average something like 1.5 birdies per round. I haven't had an eagle in almost 2 years now....

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
