Winterized Knits!

TRUE_linkswear_TK3RIPSTOP_M_RS-33_Charco

In case I wasn't clear above, this is the winterized version of the Knit II, and I'm really looking forward to getting a pair of these. If you've seen any of my recent videos (just of me practicing, or ones like this tip on Instagram), you'll see that even though it's winter, I'm wearing my True Knits. (The originals - I "save" the Knit IIs with more tread for playing golf or at least teaching golf on grass, typically.)

BTW, according to TRUE, most people should fit into the same size. So if you're a 10.5 in the Knit, you'll probably fit into a 10.5 in the Ripstock. The few people who have gotten different sizes have actually gone down a size as they like the extra comfort. I plan to get the same size as my current shoes as I may wear slightly socks in the winter anyway.

Specs:

→ 100% Recycled, Durable Polyester Ripstop Upper
→ Highly Water & Wind Resistant Construction
→ Ergonomic, Minimalist Design for Enhanced Natural Comfort
→ Renewable and Temperature Regulating Wool Liner
→ Recycled EVA & Natural Gum Rubber Outsole
→ Tour Tested & Approved Outsole Cushion & Tread
→ Renewable Shoe/Shag Bag in Lieu of the Traditional Cardboard Box
→ Anti-Microbial and Breathable Insert & Liner for All-Season Comfort
→ Machine Washable

Colorways:

image.png

As you can see, traditional grey, black, white, navy, olive, and a "greige" or "stone" grey/beige.

I saw the email this morning. They look good. Did I miss how you tightened these?

Never mind. That is just how True shows the shoe. Duh

Ha ha. That’s how I wear them too (unless I’m actually playing golf in them).

Mine arrived yesterday (FedEx Ground delivery on a Sunday?), and I'll get some pictures when I'm downtown tomorrow.

Early reviews are really good!

Do they run true to size?  Width? I normally wear a 10 wide shoe.

See above. I can see what TRUE said about maybe going half a size smaller. They feel a little looser than the Knits.

If you have a pair of Knits and they're a solid fit, go same size. Otherwise, if they're a tiny bit looser, go down half a size.

The majors felt a bit tight due to the thicker insoles in 11.5. Once I put the original soles in perfect. The 1/2 size bigger I bought still feels too large. I never wear. The originals have the best fit for my foot. The knit II are my everyday shoe and fit great with my usual 11.5. My achilles had to adjust to the higher back on them. I hated the eco shoes. I hope these are solid. I liked the looks. Wasn’t originally sold on the non waterproof. My knits aren’t either. So be it.

How does the wool liner feel? Thick like the Major insoles or standard like Originals and TKii? You mentioned the shoe is wider than the TKii.

It… honestly doesn't feel like much of anything, because you can't really tell through socks. It feels like… a shoe. A little bit more material than the Knits, but… barely.

Very comfortable. Stylish. I didn't walk through any dew or anything, but… I think the nylon fabric will be good for most damp conditions.

Mine are scheduled for delivery today. Your pics really made the shoe pop (especially the blue) The TK3’s should be a solid everyday shoe like my TK2. It is crazy that at 44 I do not own a pair of “typical” sneakers. My Knits do the same job and the TK3 will also. Awesome!

Shoes came. They run a 1/2 size large. Not sure I like the structure or lack of for this shoe. Will ask True to send a half size smaller to see which I prefer it at all.

To be clear they're not the Knit III. They're similar to the Knit, but these are the Ripstop.

As I've said, they run about a quarter size large. I wear thicker socks in the winter, often (and no socks sometimes when running errands, etc. in the summer with the Knits).

There's more "structure" than the Knits given the wool interior.

It is funny you say that about not being TK3. I didn’t think they were but it is mentioned in True description. All good. Being a huge True fan like you @iacas I have multiple True soles. I added the soles from the Majors. That 1/4 inch difference is gone. So far they feel good with those soles.

I see that now. That's kinda dumb - they're not a knit shoe.
