Can you video in slow motion? It’s easier to see all the check points.

I tried, but it forces me to upload it as a short instead of a video. And shorts don’t allow you to slow the speed down. I’ll try to find another way.

Are you using an iPhone? If so, edit the video in Photos first. Select the area for slow motion using the slider at the bottom. Then trim for length. Save it, then upload to YouTube.

I don't see much of a change to the grip.

I tend to get under plane a little bit (which is why the miss is pushes to the right and fat shots). You can also see me back my upper body/head out as I come into impact. So although I maintain my tush line, I’m still sorta backing out of the shot.

Any ideas why or what the culprit may be?

(as for the grip - I gripped that in my left hand first with just the index finger and pinky pad. I promise you that’s in my fingers. Don’t know what else to say about that).

It isn’t. You’re not understanding what it means to grip it in the fingers. It comes out well away from your pinkie finger.

Knuckles aren’t close to parallel, grip exits by your wrist. Your fingers aren’t by your wrist.

The grip is going to be “in the fingers” even if it’s palmy, because you’re still holding it with your fingers. It’s just angled too much into the palm.

My grip rests on the intermediate phalanges of my left hand. It’s almost perpendicular to my hand when I hold the club in the air.

You can see here where the callouses form on my fingers right towards the last joint:

I think ultimately your grip ends up like this:

grip.jpg

In other words, you may feel like your fingers are touching the grip, and it may be in the index finger, but you can see how the way @billchao is gripping it (the actual grip) has the grip coming out nowhere near the wrist, while the black bar grip (the graphic I added) comes out close to your wrist, as your grip does, even though Bill could push his pinkie finger up and hold the grip between the pinkie finger and the pinkie side of the palm.

The pinkie finger should be curled around the grip, not pushed against the side of it.

Ok - that makes sense to me and I can see it.

Thanks.

Think of it as lifting a hard suitcase by it's handle from the floor (lead hand) or hanging off monkey bars.

I’m not an instructor, @iacas is, but I would say your not far off in your swing plane. Fix the grip issue first, if you can. Be diligent about it too. Changes can take time. It may also help the swing plane a bit.

You are straightening your right leg too much too soon on the backswing, which pushes things behind you a little bit too much at the top.

I've also noticed that but haven't found a good feel to delay the straightening. Any ideas?

Yeah, fix your grip first (ha ha ha ha), and then turn your pelvis into your right thigh.

You may feel like you’re not turning your hips.

PGA Tour players generally move their arms first, their chests second, and their hips last. The hips have the shortest distance to go, so no need to make them rotate fast/early.

All I have is DTL video this time.

My fingers are all torn up right where y’all showed. So it seems like I’m getting closer to having the grip down. ha

This is me working on not rotating too fast in takeaway and not rolling forearms (getting me too flat).

In downswing I’m trying to work my right shoulder down and around to maybe help straighten out path.

1 swing is stop at the top. Other is full swing.

I did have an issue hitting shanks at one point. Wish I could figure out why. It only happened when I worked the club up more in takeaway (see video ^)

If I did my old laid off swing the shanks went away. But it appears I’m hitting better positions in this video.

While working on your grip you can get your weight out of your heels. Can encourage shanks and EE.

OUT of your heels, meaning not in the heels.

The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
