I just got a sweet new set of irons. Callaway X forged CB 4-PW. Absolutely love them. Yeah, yeah..pics are coming.

We took the kids up to the Mall of America this past week and on our way home I hot up Golf Galaxy because we don't have one near us. Closest one is in Omaha which is 3 hours away so I wanted to check

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Id planned on getting a fitting.

However when I looked through the shafts/specs there was only one that suited me from previous history. I think this setup will give me a lot of confidence.

I felt that even if i did get a fitting with all the other shafts, I wasn't prepared to pay extra for an upgraded shaft anyway. Given how expensive this driver is already.

There was also a couple of other little reasons I ordered without a fitting. Everything weighed up and it was a no brainer really. That was a month ago, and I don't have buyers regret yet, so that's a positive thing 😅

BTW - Can I ask which shaft you chose? 

Every year all the new drivers come out and they are all slick like elephant snot. If I was infinitely wealthy I'd buy two or three every year.

Yeah very expensive these days. Luckily I am very picky, otherwise I'd be broke.

last week, some kirkland wedges, and kirkland golf balls 

 

Cobra Radspeed 3 wood...  and got the rest of my clubs fitted with Winn Dri-tec grips,  so all of my clubs have the same grips.

I mean I can't get enough of it at the moment.

Finally ordered a copy of Lowest Score Wins last week and thought I should really head back over to thesandtrap.com and start arguing about shit I am not qualified to argue about.

      Yet Another Discussion About Chippers

      Okay, so in a golf shop and to my surprise I see a Cleveland Smart Sole Chipper in the used bin. Its the same chipper Mark Crossfield went ga ga over a few years back. It's in the used bin, but it still has the plastic on the grip and still has the plastic on the head. 39 bucks. ... So, for roughly the price my sister pays for coffee I can get the chipper Mark Crossfield says everyone should stick in their bag.  So, thirty seven dollars and sixty three cents later that bad boy is all mine. (BTW - I asked the guy what the best he could do on it and he said 35 bucks. ... Always ask what's the best they can do on clubs out of the used bin. They will nearly always take a couple dollars off for you.)  Anyway, I brought it home and tested it first in the basement. I skulled my first shot... and my second... Hmm.... I must be doing something wrong. I got back and watch the Mark Crossfield video.  I take the thing to the course. ... I'm excited to try it out. ... I skull far more than my fair share. I thought you weren't supposed to be able to miss hit this thing.  Apparently, I suck at chippers, Which is weird, because I'm a descent chipper with "normal" clubs. Anyone who's played with me will tell you I can be wildly inconsistent off the tee. I can tug a wedge shot with the best of them. I can miss 4 foot straight uphill putts. I can top a 3-wood. But my chipping is generally pretty solid. Shotscope tells me I'm better than a 5 HCP chipping.  WTH - I thought these were supposed to be easier to use???  I have a buddy who actually does suck at chipping. I'm going to have him try it and see what happens.
