Not willing to root for BD yet as he still has a lot of sins including the big one to atone for but it wouldn't totally ruin it for me either.

I hope Rory can anchor this one. He certainly is not lacking in goodwill.

If a group is put on the clock and they keep playing slow, will a penalty hit them both equally, even if one player is sluggish and the other fast? I know they don’t deal out a lot of penalties, but it could happen.

I definitely have a better outlook on BD after watching his YouTube channel and his appearances on Grant Horvath’s channel. He’s an odd character but he loves the game and is considerably more entertaining than Scheffler and many other PGAT players. I do however continue to see Koepka as a total douche.

I’m pulling for Rory but won’t be disappointed if BD wins. It’s just a damn shame he’s with LIV.

He's actually pretty funny, which is hard to admit because I wanna hate everything about him

He's entertaining.

I still don't "like" him, and he has said a lot of stupid shit over the years, recently about the LIV stuff and the OWGR, etc.

TikTok is infinitely more evil than Bryson.

I'm a little behind, but I'm sure I'll catch up soon given the commercial load.

Shit, Åberg OB on two with his third, dropping four, hitting 5 still well out from the green. Guess he's an early ejection.

I have Pavon shooting a 72 or 73 today, not really ejecting, but not in it at the end (Cantlay, Rory, with Bryson winning).

Good early birdie on 1 from Rory. Longest putt he's made all week.

Cantlay’s perpetual scowl is a no go for me lol. Just can’t root for the guy. Rory holding on. Bryson may get a little impatient and make a blunder. So far a damn good US OPEN to me.

Finau leaves a short par putt short. That won't get it done.

Rory seems to be in control to start.

Cantlay, meh. Almost duck hooked an iron OB or something?

Hit a great long iron, it looked to get a great kick forward, only for Pinehurst #2 to give him the finger and the ball ends up in that crap lie. Just bad luck there.

Hole #5 just a beast. Amazing how Rory’s approach looked so good then ended up in that spot. Can’t believe people think this isn’t worthy of a US OPEN set up.

This is fun. I wanna kill the guy who invented split screen commercials, but this is a great battle.

Rory is crushing it with the driver, but less than sharp with the wedges, leaving them out to the right.

Oh well, we all have our hills. I have a personal boycott against Twitter/X most of the time.

The video still shows a funny and self deprecating side of the doofus

Luckily for Rory, his putter is working today. +3.54 on SG putting today.

    • Day 100: Full swing rehearsals and some short game practice.
    • Day 213: 7/23/24 Putting through 50 mm gates. Rough session. While recuperating from tennis elbow I have been putting with a prayer grip. Instantly reverted to claw when I played on Saturday (gaining 3.25 strokes putting vs. my handicap) but a little off in indoor practice.
    • Day 82 (23 Jul 24) - played in the monthly church men’s 9hole superball this evening.  Good mix of skill sets, allowed for playing from not the usual approach shot lengths.  Love mixing it up.
    • I would be surprised if you didn’t get ticket for the practice rounds. I don’t think they were sell outs. The Thu - Sun crowds are massive.  We went to a practice round and went all over the course, sat in about 10 different grandstands and watched a bit at the range.  On  the Sunday we were travelling up from distance so didn’t get there till 10.30am. We walked the course from the 1st green out to the 6th. Then sat on the grass behind the 12th  for a couple of hours. After watching  at the 14th green we watched the finale from the beer garden in front of the giant screen.  it’s a great day out, but you don’t see as much golf as you would wish. We could have sat in any of the back six grandstands at 10am, by 11am they were all full.  if you do get tickets, I wish you good weather( by which I mean not raining)
    • I don’t know what the record is for the longest duration thread on TST but I figured, I started this thing, so I may as well add to it, almost 4 years later. So, where was I? At the start of the golf season two years ago, I switched from the cheap Adidas Tech Response 2.0 spiked shoe to the spike-less Adidas 2SG SI. It had the three main features I wanted; comfort, waterproof and under $100. They have proven to be and still are, extremely comfortable when walking and the one-year waterproof guarantee has proven to be more or less accurate. In wet conditions, the fabric upper does develop a dark stain, but the dampness hasn’t penetrated to my foot, at least not yet anyway. It basically does what a golf shoe is supposed to do, provide stability when swinging the club, good traction and to top it all off, the tread, after two years and probably a hundred rounds, is still there…it hasn’t worn down hardly at all. So, what’s my problem? Well, it’s kind of embarrassing, but in my advancing age, I’m developing a bunion on my right foot. It’s not one of those ugly bulbous things, and it doesn’t hurt, but it’s there. I think I need a little more room in the toe box so I’m considering going back to True. But…which one? I’m looking at the “Original 1.2” but I haven’t seen many reviews of them. My main criticism of the Original Trues I had many years ago was the nubs on the bottom wore down pretty quickly and I could feel every rock and pebble I walked over. Are they still like that? Other than the fact that my price limit is now around $130, my main prerequisites remain the same; comfort, waterproof and durable. So, let’s keep this thread going. What’s the latest opinion on shoes?
