Sorry that I've been away from my computer for a little while here.
I'm still good for Saturday and still no good for Sunday.

I sent my Venmo in for Saturday.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I've played "blind" events, and they're kind of fun not knowing how your teammates are doing, but overall I DO prefer to play with my partners/teammates.  With three groups, I think two-player teams is probably a better choice, if we have four full groups a 4-player game might work.  Of just play the same game both days, which is much easier on everyone.

I played an interesting game with @jsgolfer with his buddies in Scotland, I think they called it 42.  4-player teams, over the course of 18 holes (72 holes per team) you had to choose 42 net scores to count.  I think I got that number right, hopefully Jerry will hear his name and correct me if I'm wrong.  The interesting part, you had to choose at the end of each hole how many of those scores to count.  For two-player teams, you could require 21 scores.

It's actually the 44 game, you take the best 44 net scores. And yes you are correct, you had to choose how many scores you were going to take before you tee off on the next hole.  The idea is that you don't want to get to 18 and need 4 scores.

The other game we played in Scotland with two man teams is we did the modified 2-man stableford format.  The modified portion of the scoring, is that on 2 holes on each 9, both players scores count.  So if it's a tough hole or easy hole, there can be some pretty good swings on the points.  And since it was a net format, the scoring was:

Net Par 2 Pt  Net Bogey 1 Pt   Net Birdie 3 pts  Net Eagle 4 pts

Room for ONE more on Sunday, and FOUR more on Saturday (though right now Saturday is a full 12, so we may just cap it there for the ease of the games).

Yes, I'm going to cap it at 12 for Sunday; I need to finalize tee times with the course this week so I'm going to cancel the last tee time.

Regarding games...here is what @iacas and I came up with.  I like the team aspect...and would encourage folks to dress accordingly!  🙂

There will also be net and gross skins game each day (with the remaining $10).

Teams

Saturday - Reserve Run

1. @NeilR, @vasaribm, @dennyjones, @StuM

2. @DinnerTime, @Carl3, @rwolfe, @ChetlovesMer

3. @Hardspoon, @iacas@DaveP043, @billchao

Sunday - Cranberry Highlands

1. @rwolfe, @NeilR, @StuM, @vasaribm

2. @DaveP043, @saevel25, @dennyjones, @billchao

3. @DrizZzY, @Daniel Mc, @Huffy, @OBlum

4. @Hardspoon, @iacas@DinnerTime, xxx

Rules

  1. Team play - blue vs. red overall. Winning team takes all (+$10 each). Each day is a separate competition.
  2. Each two-player team must count 9 net (80%) scores per nine holes, with a minimum of 3 scores from each player per nine for a total of 18 scores. Scores are counted relative to par. Scores must be decided and counted before anyone tees off on the next hole.
  3. On one hole per nine, the opposing twosome can select one of the players on the other team whose score must count on that hole as long as the team hasn't gotten to their 9 counted scores for the round yet. They must choose the other player on the other nine. (So, team A/B can force C/D to count C's score on hole 4, and D's score on hole 15.) This must be announced before anyone tees off on that hole.
  4. The total team score to par (net) will determine the winning team for the day.

Yes. Please wear blue or red each day. It's not a requirement, but it'd be nice.

$5 each, yeah.

To be clear, the entire blue team is playing the entire red team. It's not 2 vs. 2 in your foursome. You won't know the result until we're all done.

Sounds like a blast,  we'll done!  I particularly like #3, reminds me a little of the gold ball challenge from the last Newport Cup.    My only. issue,   I have to play twice withhh. @billchao.   Hahaha, just kidding, of course, I'm looking forward to the weekend. Thanks again for all you've done to make this happen .

You have my sincerest condolences. I didn't think it was possible but I am somehow worse at golf than the last time we met.

Hi,

I am signed up for both days for the TST outing coming up in June.

This past Tuesday while playing in an interclub match I was the passenger in a golf cart that rolled over. It rolled to my side; hence I took the brunt of the fall. I suffered major road rash on the asphalt to both knees, elbows and my right arm (from elbow up to palm). Dislocated right shoulder. A bump to the head; fortunately the CT Scan came back with good news. I have been evaluating my recovery progress over the last few days, and it does not look like I will be able to play in the outing. Is there any chance of getting a refund?

Thanks

Ken Prince

    • Day 354: shitty, busy week so far. Only had time for a bit mirror work - working on the same things.
    • IDK, a full turn. That is what it's feeling like. When I shallow the club, it ends where It ends. Should I crank the torso more around?  I'll check a face-on to make sure, but it's not like I am trying to make partial backswings.  The day has finally come, when I am getting comments on not making a long enough backswing. 🤣 too much of what?  Here is my typically routine.... 1) I usually start out just doing position work. The backswing stuff we work on. Turn to A2.5-ish, shallow to A4, pause, arms down to A6. Then, slight pump drill and hit the ball.  2) I do some pause at A4 and arms down and try to hit ball from A4 instead of A6.  3) I do some full swing stuff, trying to blend it all together. Checking video to see if I am actually keeping the club shallow or not. If not, then I go back to trying to train the downswing with the stuff we worked on. I try to blend it all together again, and check video.  What am I missing here? I do the stuff we worked on. I'll keep it at, it's all I can do. Just hope it changes.  Sorry for trying to find a feel that keeps the club shallow..
    • Ha ha.... I'm not sure.  I've actually never watched a LIV event. ... but maybe? 👍👍
