This falls under the “Way Too Early” category but I have some travel and tournament plans to wrap around this big Event. Any ideas as to where and the month?

I think @Hardspoon is going to organize this one this year… unless you're talking about one in a very different area.

I'm sure he'd welcome the help if you're not.

Anywhere within reasonable driving distance works for me. Open to assist, too.

I'm interested.

I always enjoy playing in these events, sometimes I've even played well. ... sometimes not so much.

I do have an event I've been playing for more than a decade and a half that happens the first weekend in May in Las Vegas.

BTW - if any of you are interested in joining me in that event let me know, and I'll get you details.

Here's the thread for that event.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I've had fun every time I've gotten together with any of the SandTrap folks, I'm definitely interested in doing it again if its within reasonable driving distance.

Latrobe, and the Rolling Rock club?

Ick. Maybe only if we play the front nine twice. Hard pass on the back nine.

I assume you mean at Rolling Rock, with the front 9 being the Donald Ross part, and the back opening 80 years later?

Yes. I think it was Brian Silva. A less good section of the property, and a much less good set of holes.

I last played it on a day when they had… six rounds played. We were three of them.

I plan to play a lot more golf in 2025 than I did in 2024, so let me know where and if I can get there, I will.

  • 3 weeks later...

As @iacas mentioned, I'm happy to help plan this year.

If we want to stick close to Pittsburgh/Ohio, we could play a round at my club:

Williams Golf & Country Club is a private club located in the heart of Weirton, West Virginia. We offer memberships of all varieties and can host any event.

It's nothing special, but a nice round and something a little different.  Depending how many folks we have, I could possibly also get us on at Allegheny CC.

    • I will most likely buy the TSR1 klineka mentioned, though they didn't respond when I asked the seller if they had the +6 weight. They only said the weight was the standard 9g. I contacted a couple of local pro shops, one said they would call Titleist on Tuesday (as Monday is a holiday) for me to order a +6 weight, but the one said Titleist wouldn't have it anymore since it's an older model. Anyway, I will probably buy an aftermarket weight from eBay. Any concerns around aftermarket weight on eBay? They are not cheap, like around $15.
