Ill play 9 usually a couple times a week and usually play once on the weekend. Im single with no kids though so no extra responsibilies, working overtime(i work at night) and weather lately usually limit it to no more than that but sometimes as much as 4 times a week. If i play too much it simply gets too expensive then, nice medium is 3 times a week. I have other hobbies too and friends and family on the weekends usually. If i play at least a couple times a week I'll still stay somewhat sharp. My weekend playing partner might be not playing for a long time, about to have his 3rd child this week so I he'll be busy for a while.

I play 9 every monday while my daughter takes a lesson, the course is usually wide open and I practice more than I actually play. Usually I can get in another 9 during the week, and I've been playing 18 about every other weekend. I chip in the yard a couple of times a week also.

Typically I play 18 on every weekend (usually Sunday), plus 9 on Tuesday evening. This summer I have been teaching my friend's son to play and that usually results in another 9-18 holes on Saturday on a par-3 course. During the summers I also usually average about 1 day a month that I take off work (or a holiday) when I play 18 as well.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Once or twice a week after work, but the weekends are a different story, the guy's in my foursome have played 54 holes on Saturday and 36 on Sunday or the other way around, which depends on everybody's weekend work schedule. Let me tell you Monday AM after 90 holes of golf is tough, but come Tues.or Wed. I'm ready to go again. Maybe that's to much golf and maybe why I can't seem to play a little better.

I typically play once a week during peak season in the desert (October-March) and then play twice a week when the temperatures go up and the greens fees come down (April-September).

I usually play 2-3 times per week with at least one range practice in between. Being retired, I can pretty much play as I want to. The weather has been so hot here in Houston that I play only in the evenings when the day is cooling off. My hand arthritis also limits my play somewhat, but that is better now with the oversized grips. Last evening my last putt on #18 was just visible in the last of the twilight; a nice way to end the day.

I try to get in 18 holes every Saturday, or if the weekend is tied up for some reason with the wife, I'll leave work early and go during the week. I could probably get in more if our local area had a golf league, but there isn't one.

I consider myself lucky...I'm married with two small kids and I get out to play 1-2 times a week. Fortunately my wife knows how much I love golf and supports my habit as long as I'm balancing family/work/golf. She'll be quick to let me know if I'm out of line :)

AMEN bro

also married w one kid (one) i try to get at least 1 one 9 in and an 18 or 2 nines on the W/E range/practice sessions 2 x a week - usually 45 mins. on the range and an 1.5-2.0 hrs on the putting surface/chipping sometimes i get out more, depends how busy I am w work/family but yep, she will let me know when I need to be home more trying to get in at least 2 tourney's this year, but our season will be coming to a close in about a month and a half or so :(

I'm EXTREMELY lucky. I get to play 3 twilight rounds a week + 1 - 2 full rounds on the weekends... if i'm on the road/tour
then I get to play Friday, Saturday & Sunday full rounds...with twilight sessions of course in between.

I play 5 to 6 times a week. 12:30 during the week and 8:00 on the weekend. I generally take a day off to do some things around the house, or just to take a break. Ive already posted just over 100 scores to the GHIN and we didn't start posting till sometime in March. And we have had alot of rain outs.

    • Of course. I've used different words to start, but like 90-95% of the time it's been this one. And I'm unlikely to switch now.
    • Welcome to TST @Camjr.   We're glad you've joined.
    • Angle is not a factor. I hit the ball 100’ high. Par is net birdie. My CH is 16. The rough between the bunkers is like 10’ wide though. That’s not something you’re going to try to hit on purpose. Most of the area to the left of that is fescue/native vegetation and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a flat lie in any of it. It’s the second hole.
    • Hello all.  I'm about to be 57 yrs old, started playing when I was 16, and have quit and restarted the game more times than I can count.  I had started playing a weekly round with a friend, and finally made the jump to Senior A shafted Tour Edge clubs.  Instantly gained 10 yds with an easier swing (why didn't I make that jump sooner???).  Glad to be a part of the group. Cheers all,
    • I think I like this hole.  It is a clear "Risk-Reward" choice.  Since most of the shots in your cone cleared the bunkers I would say they are a minor risk and not a big issue.  Playing the aggressive line may give you 70ish yards in from what looks to be playable rough while conservative play is 120ish from fairway.  I know you said 70 vs 120 is minor for you but how does the approach angle in impact your results?  I figure both strategies are playing for Birdie since holing out from either is mostly luck. Looking at your proximity hole I think it says @ 50 feet when hitting from the fairway from 100-150 and 40 feet if hitting 50-100 from the rough.  Neither of those is an easy birdie putt.   I like the approach angle from the rough between the bunkers & the adjacent tees over the angle from @ 120 in the fairway but I really do not like the idea of hitting onto the adjacent tee boxes and that may impact my confidence with making the shot.  Also, too far left may be a worse approach angle then from the fairway short of the bunkers. For me this may come down to how confident do I feel when I reach that tee box.  If I am stroking it well off the tee leading up to the hole I would try for over the bunkers and the better angle in but if I am struggling that day I would likely opt for the fairway to take more bad stuff out of play.
