Ben is not from this planet. The media guide lists him as coming from somewhere named "Krypton."

I heard a great comment on one of the talk radios. Some dude said, the reason why Ben is above any pressure... is because he's too stupid to realize the magnitude of the games he's playing! All he wants is to play football.

Whatever makes him do it - he's doing it right. I think Hawks are up for a big ass-whoopin'.

I don't think Ben is dumb. That's a pretty silly comment. Nor do I think the game will be a blowout (in either direction).

Well, sometimes the camera catches him and he has that deer in the headlights look. Of course, Peyton Manning doesn't look like a brainiac either, but he is considered to be one of the most intelligent QB's in the league.

Agreed. I think the Steelers will win, but it will be within 10 points. My guess would be 23-17.

Fairways and Greens.

I guess that just goes to show how hard it is to think while laying on your back.

Time will tell. About five days. But I don't think the Seahawks are in for any whoopin.

was that a blonde joke ?

More a "during the Steelers game, Manning spent most of his playing time laid out" joke.

Well being from ohio I absolutely hate to have to root for the steelers but I think they will come out on top. I think they will control the game as well. They will come out and get at least a 10 point lead and never give it up. Only way they lose this game is if big ben gets hurt then they are in trouble. We saw their season almost slip away when he was hurt. I don't think you'll find many steelers fans who are huge fans of maddox.

You summed up my feelings exactly. Sad but true.

Charlie Batch is second in the rotation. And hell, I'd rather they put in Randle-El or Ward than Maddox. Or my grandma.

Sorry I almost forgot about Batch. I've got a couple of die hard steelers fans that I work with and I know they all wanted to go out and start as QB once Ben went down. They couldn't stand the back ups.

I was really quite delighted to see them struggle though. Being an avid browns fan I could relate quite well. I think it really shows what a strong team they have to be where they are now compared to where they were mid season. It looked as if they wouldn't even make the playoffs and now they have a chance to be the champs.

Its kind of like college football for me. If your team is out you want to see someone from your conference do well. Makes for a better schedule next year at least. Plus if they can pull it off it will hang one huge target on them for next year. You know the Browns and the Bengals would love to beat the champs. Should be a good rivalry next year.

    • They're playing 16 games in each match though. Don't need much of an advantage before that number of players significantly loads things in their favor. The other team has to win 8.5 games to beat them. At a 65/35 split, that's a lot and pretty unlikely (about 10% of the time).
    • Why does the second sentence have to be true? If they're used to playing a tough course that's improperly rated, they're going to both have inflated indexes and have higher skills relative to them. If their home course features a variety of different challenges, I don't see why their game wouldn't travel well. And on the flip side, some courses and their members take pride in how hard their course is and how tough it's rated, and that bit of vanity ends up hurting them in these kinds of competitions.
    • I discussed it today but can call back and re-confirm.  I would love to be wrong on that point. Note: That may have been before they changed the hotel due to lack of room at Hampton Inn. Update on Friday Hotel: If I can give a count to EagleSticks they can get us a discount on Friday night at the hotel.  I do not have the $$ but should be much lower than the $249 the hotel quoted me. I do not have my list with me for the Friday hotels but if you want one, please post ASAP and I will get the rate and get them held. Thanks @billchao for catching this.
    • There are plenty of amazing things people are doing every single day, but if other people don't care about it, nobody is going to notice. LPGA is not popular that popular, so despite the great achievement, is not getting any attention and is going to be forgotten very soon. On the other side, if tiger farts louder than normal we are definitively going to know about it because tiger is popular.
    • @StuM when I called the course a couple of months ago they said you can mention that you want to add an extra night to the hotel when you book the package through them and the people who are in charge of the stay and play can handle it, did you ask them about that?
