The Java's is a make by both him and Drew Estate I believe. I too am not one for flavored cigars, but those are pretty good. Keep in mind, dont put the Javas in with regular cigars in your humidor.

It's a Drew Estate Cigar made for and distributed by Rocky Patel. I have read to just cut open the ends of the cellophane if you plan on keeping them in the same box, but I plan on finishing up my La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduros before I get a box of Java's. I tried the Java Latte(not sure why) and it didn't do it for me, but the Java Maduro Toro's are yummy. I get more people asking what I am smoking with those than any other Cigar, pleasing aroma.

i have so much drum stuff in my basement, its not even funny.

You should meet my dad. He has a rather large snare drum collection. His actual set is out of control. Neil Pert is his drummer god. My dad's set mimics Neil's. You can barely walk in his drum room. I don't know if you go on a pearl drums forum but he moderates at one.

I can relate to a few of you guys!

1. Wrist watches. I've got about 40 (haven't stopped and counted recently) including Breitling, Omega, Rolex, Universal Geneve, Rado, TAG Heuer, Zenith, etc.

2. Putters. Especially older Pings. I've got close to 20.

3. Drum stuff. Lots of snare drums, lots of cymbals. I've got 4 sets, including a set of Roland Vdrums and a vintage Ludwig Superclassic.

4. Bikes. Especially vintage BMX bikes. I've got a thing for old Redlines and Haros. I also have a few roadies and a couple mountain bikes.

I think I might have a mildly addictive personality? lol

When I was younger I actually sold my baseball card collection for $1500 and bought my 1st car....Man oh man that was a long time ago.

That's just absurd! Why don't parents know better?!?! I had a good collection as a kid too. Not any more...

I think I was 20 or so. . .was in college, went down in the basement to find the cards TO SELL. They were mine right? I was doing my best not ask the parents for dough. So I thought what the heck, sell a couple cards.

I had an ENTIRE page of ROOKIE Ricky Hendersons. I think that page alone was worth over $1200. Now probably WAAAY more than that. It still sickens me to think of it. T w e n t y - three sets of Hogan irons, HOLY CRAP!!!

Used to play drums when I was younger. Sold off my last set a couple years back. I still have a couple African style drums, bongos, etc. . .If there's a hippie drum circle out on campus, I sometimes drop in and light 'em up!

For a while in college I got into basketball cards again. That was 1991 and then they started to come out with too many brands and series to keep up with. I gave up in 1993 but still have a huge collection that my younger son is interested in.

In 1986 I was playing high school basketball and we were at a road game where there also happened to be a collectibles show going on in their loby. During the JV game, one of my teammates and I decided to check it out. We ended up splitting the cost of an unopened box of 86-87 Fleer basketball cards. It was $16 total. The next day we split them up and each ended up with a full set plus doubles of most cards. I didn't think much about it for a few years until I got into collecting again. I was flipping through a Becketts Basketball guide when I discovered that since there were no mass produced cards from 83-86, the 1986-87 Fleer set is considered the rookie set for many of the great players including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins and Patrick Ewing to name a few. I ended up selling the doubles of most of them for about $500. I still have the full set, including the Jordan card that is valued between $1500-2000 for the set and between $800-1500 for the Jordan card. The price fluctuates and the market is down for that type of thing now. I will likely give the Jordan card to my older son when he graduates college. He is not a big sports fan, but his name is Jordan Michael. No coincidence.

I used to collect vintage SxS shotguns, but when the wife and subsequent kids came on board, priorities changed, and I sold my higher end doubles. Still have a few old field grade doubles.

Back in kindergarten the bus went K-6th grade. Kindergarten being the closest to the driver. I used to buy so many Pokemon cards the "big kids" would let me sit back there with them so they could rip me off. When I found out I got ripped off, I tattled.

    • @boogielicious and I are definitely in for the Stay & Play and will need the extra night's stay on Friday. I don't know what the plans are for our group on Friday but even if we don't make it for dinner with the rest of the Friday arrivals, I'll be more than happy to meet up somewhere for a beer or something.
    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
    • Wish I could have spent 5 minutes in the middle of the morning round to hit some balls at the range. Just did much more of right side through with keeping the shoulders feeling level (not dipping), and I was flushing them. Lol. Maybe too much focus on hands stuff while playing.
    • Last year I made an excel that can easily measure with my own SG data the average score for each club of the tee. Even the difference in score if you aim more left or right with the same club. I like it because it can be tweaked to account for different kind of rough, trees, hazards, greens etc.     As an example, On Par 5's that you have fescue on both sides were you can count them as a water hazard (penalty or punch out sideways), unless 3 wood or hybrid lands in a wider area between the fescue you should always hit driver. With a shorter club you are going to hit a couple less balls in the fescue than driver but you are not going to offset the fact that 100% of the shots are going to be played 30 or more yards longer. Here is a 560 par 5. Driver distance 280 yards total, 3 wood 250, hybrid 220. Distance between fescue is 30 yards (pretty tight). Dispersion for Driver is 62 yards. 56 for 3 wood and 49 for hybrid. Aiming of course at the middle of the fairway (20 yards wide) with driver you are going to hit 34% of balls on the fescue (17% left/17% right). 48% to the fairway and the rest to the rough.  The average score is going to be around 5.14. Looking at the result with 3 wood and hybrid you are going to hit less balls in the fescue but because of having longer 2nd shots you are going to score slightly worst. 5.17 and 5.25 respectively.    Things changes when the fescue is taller and you are probably going to loose the ball so changing the penalty of hitting there playing a 3 wood or hybrid gives a better score in the hole.  Off course 30 yards between penalty hazards is way to small. You normally have 60 or more, in that cases the score is going to be more close to 5 and been the Driver the weapon of choice.  The point is to see that no matter how tight the hole is, depending on the hole sometimes Driver is the play and sometimes 6 irons is the play. Is easy to see that on easy holes, but holes like this:  you need to crunch the numbers to find the best strategy.
