Its funny how they say only about ten percent of golfers hit it that long, yet 80%+ of this forum can!! You guys should all be pros!!

Bag:

DriverG25 or  XCG5 11.5* 3++ fairway wood

3w:  XCG6 15*

*5w: XCG6 18* (out if I bag my 3-iron)

Irons: Rocketbladez tour  3-pw(47*) (I sometimes bag the 3 iron but usually the 5w)

Wedges:   SM-4  52*, 56*, 60*

Putter:  Versa #7 (white on black)

Paintballer,

Your stats seem realistic. These other guys must be on the tour! Hitting those distances and being in the fairway, man, wouldn't I love to do that every time out. Anyway I hit the ball 'near' your distances until I get to the shorter clubs and then I fall off quite a bit from there. Shot 9 over, 4 days or so ago, and never had a tee shot over 230, most were 210/220. Was a standard 6900 yard course, played from the whites (I'm an old senior). Games gotten better as the body decays. Never lost a ball, never hit out of the sand, no problems. I just stayed in the fairway.

But to hit my clubs the distances these guys post would be amazing to say the least!

Driver: 9.5*  260 carry. With a good and I mean GOOD roll out 300-ish, but since I changed to a softer ball am getting a bit less distance, which is not a big deal to me. (unless it's wet out in which case it goes about 260 and dies... which happens quite often here in western Washington...)

3w: 15* 245+ (sometimes if i pure the 3w  it goes as far as my driver (which can get frustrating at times)

5w: 18*  225-235

4-iron 215 (not the best at hitting long irons lately, so I usually just hit a soft 5w and leave my 3-iron at home lol, but it is 18*and if i hit it right i can get close to 220)

5-iron 205ish

6-iron 185-195

7-iron 175-180

8 iron 160-165

9-iron 150

PW - 135 (hate this gap, and use a 3/4 9-iron to fill it in)

52* - 115-125

56* - 100 +/- 5

LW 60* - 75 (if i use a full swing, but mostly use for special phil mickelson-like lob shots)

Disclaimer* these are my summer distances, in the winter my driver goes about 250-270 if im lucky after rollout (assuming it doesn't plug... damn Seattle weather) and the rest of my clubs go anywhere from 10-25 yds shorter, PS You never said they had to be straight shots :)  I can hit big drives into the woods all day if I want LMAO!

I'll throw mine in I guess. There are quite a few long hitters here. I'd say these are about my average distances assuming I hit the ball fine. I got a new set of irons like two weeks ago though, so I'm still figuring it out a little bit.

BTW, to all who think long yardages equates to being a pro: it takes mare than distance to compete on any tour or in any event. Game/course management, emotional control, steely nerves and an incredible ability to get up and down from anywhere seperates the good from the great. Not to mention an uncanny ability to make a lot of putts.

Finally someone gave us shaft flex information to go with the distances. Thank you. If you're hitting your 9 iron 150 yards it might be time for an X100 or at the very least an S400 shaft in the irons?

My iron swing is in a state of Flux. I have a LONG driver's swing with the driver(Way Way Way past parallel like, pointing at the ball on the backswing long) but I am at a point of re-learning my iron swing and staying short of parallel. I have always played S300's and perhaps when I get back to generating some speed with my irons I may go to S400's.

I think it will help my consistency.

I remember when I was obsessed with distance….swinging 110% every shot and hitting 150+ yd pitching wedges.  I look back and laugh at myself (hysterically).

ha ha, yah that's pretty common I imagine. Statistics show that for the past 100 years, only 20% of all golfers ever break 100 and only 5% of those break 90.  Obviously, accuracy usually trumps distance. anyway just for the heck of it, I will play the "show and tell"...
