When I was a kid my favorite players were Gary Player and Arnold Palmer. In my 20s and 30s it was D.A. Weibring. Currently I like Ben Curtis, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson and Padrig Harrington. D.A. is still my favorite as a Champions Tour Player and his son Matt is my favorite Nationwide golfer. Hopefully Matt will graduate this week. So who do you guys pull for?

The Mechanic, Miguel Angel Jimenez.

Don't ask me why. OK, ask me why, but I won't have an answer. Maybe it's his crazy looks.

We always rooted for Payne Stewart. Since his tragic accident 9 years ago, we root for Fred Funk, Freddie Couples, Gary Player (the Black Knight---my son and I subscribe to his magazine), Wayne Levi (since he is from Herkimer, NY, near us), Darren Clarke, Ian Poulter, Phil Mickelson, Bruce Fleisher, Dana Quigley, Lonnie Nielson (from Crag Burn in the Buffalo area), Joey Sindelar (Horseheads, NY), and Jeff Sluman (Rochester, NY). For women golfers, we root for Paula, Natalie, Cristie, and Laura Diaz (who came from Scotia, NY, near Albany). All four of them are Americans. We have tremendous respect for Annika.

In the past, we really liked to watch Arnie, Seve, Chi Chi, and Fuzzy. They were all outgoing and exciting to watch. One last name---the 'Zinger, who overcame cancer, thank God.

i always root for tiger, he is by far the best in the game. i also love the young guns and the crazier players. i love watching j.b. holmes, anthony kim, boo weekly, and bubba watson. as a long driver myself, i love watching guys who can just hammer the ball.

i honestly don't keep up with tour very much or watch much golf on tv. but based on my limited viewings, i have to say ben hogan is my favorite of any golfer i've seen footage of/read about. tiger's a fave, too, but he's not on the same pedestal that ben is. ben's swing was just so perfect and eye-pleasing, not to mention dead-on accurate.

I have to say that Boo Weekley is my current favorite because he is such a character, but I enjoy watching Sergio Garcia and Tiger the most. I gotta give Charles Barkley honorable mention for his crisp swing tho.

My all-time favorite player is Tom Watson, who I think was one of the nicest, classiest players ever, not to mention one of the best short games ever. I am also a fan of Phil Mickelson because I like his 'go for the win' attitude instead of playing for 3rd place or whatever like so many players currently. I tend to root for 'scramblers'.

I'm pulling for David Duvall. I've always liked the guy and would love to see him find his game again.

On the rookie front, Jason Alred is who I'm pulling for. He's struggled both times he's been on the tour, but he's got game. (He set the course record at my club when he was a member and I know his dad...what can I say? :) )
