i believe he will play them, mainly because he made them to his own specifications. that means they are the exact irons that he would want to play, plus it wouldn't look good if tiger didnt play his own irons ya know?

I think you will see the victory red in his bag...or at least look like them. I can't see him not having some sort of version of them in his bag. As previously stated, he did design them. What better marketing for the irons than having them in tigers bag when he rolls off a couple of majors after his return.

He will at least have whatever irons he uses stamped to look like the VRs, whether they are mizzys or miuras or nikes etc.

The Nike VR Blades are an aweful close copy of the old Titleist 690mb Irons. I put my 690 7-iron next to the VR 7-iron and all of the geometry and the shape of the clubhead are almost all identical. It is the same 1025 carbon steel as well. The Nikes just have a prettier finish than my 5-year old Titleists.

I love all these stories. I heard he used Mizuno all through his amateur days then until about 1999 until Titleist finally produced a set he was happy with which were actually Miuras with a Titleist logo.. He then allegedly used the Miura/Titleists with a Nike logo until Nike finally made an iron which he was happy with which were very close to the miura/titleist irons just with a slight change in the centre of gravity. But I'm probably talking crap

he said he was the first to win with a vr club which i believe was a wedge. while tiger has been with nike he played nike blades if you think he played something else with a nike stamp please prove it. all we saw was a blade iron with a nike stamp. we assume that a company that never made golf clubs before could not make an iron that the best player in the world could use. i mean its just a blade i have hit alot and if you flush them they all feel the same. its not that big of a deal

Doesn't Muira forge blades to the look of what ever kind the player wants. A friend of mine has a set of Muira blades that look just like Taylor Made Rac tour blades. So they might look like Nike, but are hand forged by Muira..... I think

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

oh please dont bring this subject up again

i said this in another thread, but i'll also repost it here. i know someone who played in last years (not this years) Tee It Up With Tiger promotion and he point blank asked Tigers manager who forges his irons. Tigers manager said Tigers irons are forged at the same foundry that forges ALL of Nikes irons. Tiger has also said the same thing. Its time to put these rumors to rest. I will take Tigers word, and his managers word over anyones "source" that says otherwise.

oh please dont bring this subject up again

Do you really think Tiger or Tiger's manager would say if they were forged by Miura?

I'm sure making Nike look good is more important to him than telling your friend the truth. Not saying the story is true though, no way to tell
âI'm glad I brought this course, this monster, to its knees.â

Do you really think Tiger or Tiger's manager would say if they were forged by Miura?

Whos word would you take? Tigers manager or "

someone who heard it from someone "? Or would you take a Miura rep's word (who is just a salesman) who doesn't know the truth either but wants to sell a product?

Whos word would you take? Tigers manager or "

All I was saying is that just because Tiger's manager said he uses Nike irons doesnt 100% for sure mean he uses Nike irons and the stories aren't true. Like I said there's really no way to tell

âI'm glad I brought this course, this monster, to its knees.â

but honestly, do you think Nike would let Tiger play someone elses irons after paying him all that money? and Tiger even helped design the new VR irons, which he will be playing this coming year. or will those be Miura irons with a Nike stamp too?

I've got to agree with you. Nike is a large company, I'm pretty sure they have more than enough capability of producing the irons that Tiger wants.
