The short short sleeve looks like something that shrunk up big time in the dryer. I know Tiger looks ok in them but he is in great shape, Phil is not. Better than he used to be, but not a Tiger body. He just looks silly in the short short sleeves to me. BTW, he is stinking it up at the FBR today.

Phil doesn't look comfortable or healthy in his body. His "barely slide a credit card under his feet" leap at the Masters a few years back reflects his overall poor conditioning.

I don't understand why a lot of people seem to single Mickelson out for his "poor" conditioning? The guy looks in pretty decent shape to me compared to the average person. No he's not ripped, and no he isn't carrying a lot of muscle on his frame, but neither do most of the other players on tour. Tiger and Villegas are the rare exception on tour. More guys on tour would do well to improve their conditioning but the truth is golf isn't a sport that requires outstanding conditioning to play it well.

That was probably true ten years ago, but conditioning is key to any perennial winner on tour now. You don't see too many Craig Stadlers anymore...

Well, Phil may be the next "Walrus". Maybe his too tight shirt was messing up his swing. He sucked yesterday (Thursday) and all he could do is SMILE!! Wassup with that!?!?!?

I like the guy. I hope he does well. I want him to challenge Tiger. I know we all don't have the same body we had years ago, but Phil seems to be on a steady decline, and if he wants to continue not showing up at golf tournament at the beginning of the year, he is gonna have to get on the stick!

i think he's carrying more muscle than it appears, it's just sheathed in a fairly solid layer of fat. he's trying to portray a more athletic figure, nut I'm not sure it's working.

I bet he weighs a good 30lbs over his late 1990's weight. Of course this doesn't have anything to do with his weight, but his driving is awful. He hit 3/14 fairways the first round and 5/14 in the second of the FBR. That is pitiful. TGC blames it on him not having a new driver approved by the USGA. That is even more hilarious. You can stick a fork in him when the 'V' groves come back. Next year, I think.

He's about 50lbs higher than his mid nineties weight. I watched a mid 90s Shell's wonderful world of golf. He was thin, collar up, looking athletic. He is a great talent. I just wished he took his fitness more seriously. He is a professional athlete. To be the world's best you have to be in great shape these day. Tiger, Singh, and Duval have been number one for the past decade. When Duval lost his fitness due to injury, he hasn't been the same.
