Any thoughts on that?

Not really, no. I don't know the history, what you've worked on, what you've tried and moved away from… etc.

Working on some swing videos. What are you guys having the best luck with as far as devices used to record the swing?  I have a tripod with a magnet that I stick my phone on but it is somewhat of a pain because I have to remove the cover on my phone and when I pull it off the magnet the tripod head changes and moves position.

I was thinking something more like an ipad maybe. On a different style tripod and maybe even set it up to mirror to a tv.

I use a MagSafe connector on my tripod. Occasionally I use those clips.

I have not made any new videos as of yet. I have somewhat come to the conclusion that the practice net at home (or maybe more so the mat) is not giving me as much feedback as I would like and had me headed in the wrong direction it seems. I am going to spend the next few weeks at the range instead. I really need to see the complete ball flight to solidify what I am doing. The net is great for drills and things of that nature but I have really gotten off into the weeds on full swings with it which isn't a good thing, for me. More to come

The mat isn't what gives you feedback - it's mirrors, video, stuff you put around you like constraints and things… etc. that give you feedback.

Worrying about the ball flight may be premature.

I think you're doing movement practice, not ball flight practice, right now.

Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.

Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.

That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks

I signed up with Evolvr again on April 16th to try and get me straightened out. So far, so good.  We basically just started over at the basics (which had gotten off, to no surprise). The first issue was my setup was too far into the heels and I needed to bend over more to get the arms in a better position. I also made some grip changes as the club was more into the palm than I felt like it was.

We then moved from there to getting correct pelvis movement. I "thought" I had a pretty good turn but video shows that I was actually moving toward the ball immediately from the start of the takeaway. I have been working on starting the take away with a more lateral move away from the target and getting the hips moving at a 45* angle across my foot instead of just spinning out immediately. A good thought is that I continue to move them laterally the entire time which gets my butt back as I turn as well.

I am also focusing on turning into my right leg more instead of allowing the right let to turn which allows my hip to turn too far. And one last thing is that I need to allow the club to continue at the top instead of it laying off so much.

Several different things that I have worked on in stages, but does feel so much better.  The main things at this moment are making the moves more fluid (I am currently still thinking them through as I am swinging) and getting the new feels of each position. I am extremely happy with the progress so far. I am going to add my videos here as well to get my swing thread going again and for the swing notes.  The 5/6/25 videos were my last submission so I have not started working on turning into the right leg here

Oh and @iacas, I did move my net over 🤣. I have NO CLUE why that had never crossed my mind....But I do have a left handed player that moves it around as well.

My initial swing videos

    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
    • Current state of the program.  I can only do 25-50% swing speed, probably under 50% since I was hitting the ball out to the 150 yard marker (yay!),  to get the arms down and somewhat turn the body through impact. I mean somewhat. Arms down + body turn don't like to mesh at all. Anything faster and the body does stupid uncoordinated stuff. Mostly, I am stuck in the old pattern of staling the turn and flipping at the ball.  So, until I see progress. I am not posting anything here.
    • Thanks for the video! Do you think a ball between the arms type of training aid would get me in a better position? I also have a Tour Striker Swing Trainer (PlaneMate-like contraption) if that could be helpful.
    • There are some little things here and there — the shoulder turn is a bit flat, and the arms move around you a bit too much too. Take a look at this video:
