Here's a great tip for you. Don't be such douche. Most people don't want to help someone who acts like a douche (i.e: you).

i'm amazed on the length of this thread. i really don't care. i'm bored at work and noticed on how many people think the same thing i am. i was surprised that this thread was still at the top even after this weekend... maybe its time for you to go bother the people on golfwrx.com.

But i think its about time for the admin to lock this one down....

Ok, in all seriousness I will answer your original question. Yes you have potential, but until you start going out and working at it every single day then you are wasting away that potential.

I can't believe I just read almost this entire thread. What a waste.

To 804. I not only think you have potential, I think you could probably make a decent living within the next couple of months. My advice, drop out of school and pursue golf full time. I think you could reasonably expect to be making upwards of 250K by the year 2010.

Judging by your contact on the vid and your extreme distance (170yd 9 iron - DAYUM!) you should be able to leapfrog basically the majority of amateur golfers on the planet.

I wouldn't worry about the fact that you can't seem to figure out how to calculate an index because when you make it big you can pay for somebody to do that for you.

Good luck, Brah

@Moderators. If this were my forum I would close this thread and ban this kid. There is no possible way he can be serious.

I think you could POSSIBLY find your way onto a small pro circuit in several years if you practice for at least 2-3 hours every day. And referring to a point someone else brought up, the courses the pro's play are HARD. Im a mid-single digit handicapper, and last year I played a junior tournament at TPC Wakefield PLantation in Raleigh, NC the week after the Nationwide Tour played there. I played pretty good but shot 88. Crazy tough. The course was 6,970 yards from where we played it, which is over 600 yards longer than my home course from the back tee's. But the length wasn't the problem, it's the green complexes. I had like 40 putts that day. The break and speed of those greens are so great that you can't even practice putts that difficult on your home course greens. But with hard, productive practice every day, you may be able to do it. And don't feel dumb for trying, because I'm wanting to do the exact same thing with my life

yes, brah i feel ya. I am trying to get out on most days and play or practice something but its hard with school being in session, but when the summer rolls around, I hope to get out everyday and practice or play, and hopefully i can get a couple of lessons just to give me a few things to work on. good luck brah.

How do you correct the shot thats kinda of a low hook??? anybody know?

This is the reason why we ask you to post a video where we are actually able to see you swing. There could be so many different things that are wrong with your swing, that it's not really productive (in my opinion) to give out general information. I know you say that you don't have a digital camera, but if you go to school, they should have one available for loan.

    • I agree with @pganapathy about removing some clubs. I would recommend removing the 2, 3, 4 and 5 irons for now. Play with Driver 3W 5W 3H 5H 6 iron 7 iron 8 iron 9 iron PW ( you don’t have listed) 52 56 Putter Th 60 wedge can be difficult for new players, but you could keep that If your 3H is adjustable, increased the loft to be more like a 4H. Play with these on course and see if you can get a feel of the actual yardages for each club and especially the gaps between them. It may take 10 or more rounds. A par 3 course is helpful for determining the gaps in the irons and some woods too. A device like a Shot Scope H4 can really help give you your actual yardage on course.

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
