Has he turned pro yet?

Yep.

http://uk.reuters.com/article/UK_GOL...44364520090414 I saw an article a while back with his schedule for the year in it, but I can't seem to find it now. He saved his sponsor invites for after turning pro, so he could try to earn his way onto the 2010 TOUR.

It'll be interesting to see how he does.

There is a good article about him in April's Golf Magazine that claims he gave up about $50 million in endorsements by not turning pro after his US Amateur win. They didn't qualify this with any talk of contracts, so it'll be interesting to see who he signs with and what he endorses.

I love that he six-putted from like 15 feet in the 2nd round of the Masters coming off eagle-birdie. That's simply astounding. I've never played on Augusta greens mind you, but I'd imagine it's like trying to putt on an undulating basketball court.

I've five putted before on slow ass Muni greens so I should probably keep my mouth shut. Tiger claims to have never five putted. I'm inclined to believe him.

I still love Danny though, and expect him to come back with a vengeance at some point. We get to see how he does at the Zurich Classic on April 23rd.

Here's another article with details about the tournaments he's expected to play and some of the sponsorship deals he's got lined up:

http://nz.sports.yahoo.com/golf/news...s-professional

So far it looks like he's got the Zurich Classic, the Quail Hollow Championship, the Byron Nelson Classic, the Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial, the Memorial and the AT&T; National lined up as well as a few events in Asia.

He's also reportedly signed a US$10 million dollar deal with IMG. It's all in the article if you want to read it for yourself.

I just hope he's smart enough to make use of his exempt status on the European Tour, as a winner this year and see that as his primary Tour.

I really think that more players should follow the example of Greg Norman and others and play that tour first. I can understand the appeal of the big money on the US Tour, but someone like Baddeley would have been better off trying that route, rather than thinking they can be guns on the Big Tour straight away. I am not sure whether Lee realises that missing out on his card through Q School might be a blessing in disguise.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

What else would he want to do? Sit around for a year and chill?

There are several examples on the European Tour that might it up quite far in the World Rankings playing and succeding mostly on the Euro Tour and gain entrance into all the combined events + majors that way (Kaymer, McIlroy, Fisher - just to name a few).

Sure the money will be less, but is this really the focus for somebody who just starts out playing as a pro?

Agreed. I think one could make a good argument that the courses that the European Tour play vary more than the P.G.A. tour allowing and requiring more varied shotmaking. This will be a great learning experience for Lee.

As Mcilroy said in a magazine I read recently, the US Tour plays on the same courses every week with the same speed greens where as the European tour provides a wide range of courses and a huge amount of different speed greens, I think it provides a better opportunity to improve yourself as a player, what every young amateur needs.
