"Sitting" into my address position more and stopping my left knee from breaking in so much on the backswing. Hopefully this will help me get more lateral hip movement in the downswing.

Working on hitting less range balls. Really want to go and practice, but I've given myself tendonitis over the past week. Pisser!

Probably go putt for a bit instead.

Primarily working on my driver with secondary focus on long irons. First goal is to hit the driver straight half the time. Second goal is to break 200 yards of carry half the time. I can get 200 yards with roll right now from a straight hit. But because I'm weak off the tee, I'm also focusing on my longer irons because I find myself needing them often.

Working on my short game, i.e. chips and flop shots. Currently my distance control is not where it needs to be, and I tend to decellerate on the down swing when chipping, resulting in too many missed shots. This is the major obstacle for me getting to a lower HC, so I need to grow my skill and confidence there. Ultimately I want to get to single digits, so practice practice practice...

Working on 'tipback'. After the downswing is initiated with the right shoulder the clubhead initially moves in the opposite direction. The idea is to contain its lagging energy as long as possible for a delayed release. When I do this properly the ball is crushed and launched like an Exocet missile.

Hello everyone,

I'm new here. Took three years off.

What am I working on? Long game, mid game. short game and putting. Other than that my golf game is perfect.

Owned a set of Ping BuCu ISI irons with W54 graphite shafts since new (1998)?. But now my swing had slowed, can't hit them like I used to.

Ray of hope; bought a set of ISI-ks on ebay with U44 shafts and can easily even hit the 3 iron. Not very far but I'm going to the range.

Golf is so cool, even when it's not perfect.

Working on my tee ball setup. I found that I hit the ball better if my feet are aligned a little left of my target, and my shoulders a little right of my feet alignment. Only started working on this, but so far it seems to help...and I need help!

I finally got out on a course, damage report here if I phone-captured the link correctly:
#6467 (hmmm, nope, that's the post # in the what did you shoot today thread)

Surprisingly my tee shots weren't the biggest issue even though most tee shots had me off the right side of most fairways in the trees or rough. And even though I had several four-putts, putting wasn't the biggest factor in my final score.

My biggest issue was flubbed and dribbled hits where the ball would barely move down range, almost where it was a coin flip if I bring the push cart to the ball for the next shot or not. I tallied up all the duffs and a couple of bladed shots and figure they cost me over 30 strokes for the round.

So, next time I get to a range I'm going to forget the firing line and will hit the chip and pitch practice area. I really need to get my feel back for getting the ball out of the rough and for gauging my chipping swing. Once I get that back under control I'll have to start working on re-calibrating my club yardages.

All in all I had fun, but man do I need to scrape the rust off of my game.

    • This isn't available in NY.... Again, I thought Moderna effectiveness doesn't drop like Pfizer.... Prolly cos "sickness/illness is "la maladie" and feminine, just like Spanish with "la enfermedad"
    • Played an outing Sunday. Hadn’t hit a ball in 2.5 weeks. First shot I hit a 7 iron on par 3 that never left the stick. Absolutely pure strike. Hit my irons like that most of the day. Hit a stick with an 8 iron. Landed a 5 iron within 6 feet. Hell of a day ball striking irons. Struggles off tee to an extent but I had partners for that. We had mulligans and tosses.... and managed a -19 which is best outing score I’ve ever posted. We finished 2nd to a -21 tho. Those 4 pars we made cost us.
    • Have an old SC that's apparently been cut off, shaft band says 34" but measures 33"and it feels pretty good.
    • Very good. Always nice to get a club that works.
    • Had two chip-in birdies today on difficult par-3 holes. The first one was a bit lucky. The course was absolutely drenched due to heavy rains, and the hole was cut at a low point on the green. My pitch shot would have rolled 10-15 feet past the hole under normal conditions, but the water on the green killed the speed and the ball one hopped into the hole. The second one was actually a good shot. I was on an upslope with the green above me, and hit a perfectly weighted pitch that landed on a downslope and rolled into the hole, which was cut on a well drained part of the green.
