a little worried about how Sean closes out his final rounds...but I like him going into the Players. I think Sawgrass can suit his style of play quite well

I agree with you. In his interview after winning, he said that losing in Arnie's tournament was actually a good learning experience. Well, he is a good student to think that positively.

yep he deserved the win after tiger took it on bay hill. His ball striking was awesome all week.

I think the stat was that he won the tournament without making a birdie putt over ten feet all week. If thats true then yeah, Id say thats some pretty damn good ball striking.

You are right---Sean was 0 for 31 on putts longer than 10'. It is a testament to his ball striking that he could miss that many "makeable" putts and still get the winner's check. He even acknowledged that by saying, "so for me not to make a putt outside 10 feet, it is kind of weird that I won this golf tournament". Very honest reaction by him. He is very candid in his interviews, which is nice to listen to.

    • Every other weekend I play a modified version of match play with a friend of mine.  We play all 18.  Today I lost 8 to 6.  However...we also keep a cart score:  the winning/tying score, each hole, being the cart score for that hole.   Our previous low cart score had been +4.  This morning we managed a +3.

    • I recorded my swing in face on and down the line and have uploaded it here. Please critique and provide feedback. Appreciate your time on this! Thanks! 11 HCP. 8 Iron. Looking to optimize swing and learn to score in Golf.
    • Got a new birdie on #18 today. Hit my best drive of the day through the end of the fairway into a swale of rough short of the apron leading to the green. Had about 65 yards to the pin, so too a bit off a 9-3 sand wedge. Hit the approach to about 12 feet, and rolled in a left-to-right putt to end the round with a birdie.
    • Shot 84 today, 15 GIR/nGIR, 29 putts, and 2 penalty strokes. Started 6-6-6 (all par-4 holes). First hole was a good drive, decent nGIR approach, pitch onto green, then 3-putt. Next hole shanked tee shot OB and then went on the make a par (+2) on the second tee ball. Third hole was another nGIR, but duffed a simple chip into a bunker, then onto the green followed by 2-putt. So not a great start, but settled into the round after that. Had some good flashes with driver today, which is promising since I spent a good portion of last lesson working with this club. 3 of 4 driver off the tee were long and in the fairway, and one bad miss (thin/pull), fortunately on a short par-5 so I was able to recover for par. Short game was so-so, not bad, but not good enough. I was getting the read and bead right on my putts, but we were playing behind the crew watering greens, so my speed judgment was poor and left a lot of putts short, including a several birdie putts around 15 feet. Finished the round with a birdie on #18, which I think is a new one this season.
