Have not tried the new Motore, but I like the ZCOM 6 and the Speeder 686. Didn't really care much for the Rombax.

What about the Graffaloy Axis shaft? Anyone try that one?

I have a Fujikura Banzai in my hybrid. Not quite a driver, but it's a good shaft for an affordable price.

I'm curious about Fujikura as well. There certainly is a lot of hype about them.

I'm just now subscribing to the idea that the shaft is the engine of the golf club... the problem is it's so difficult to go out and try out several different head/shaft combinations, although it's a lot easier now then it was a few years ago when there weren't any interchangeable head/shaft fitting systems.

What kind of shaft are you looking for exactly?

Driver and 3w have fuji shafts, quite happy with both. Worlds better than the stock Callaway shaft in my old driver, I hit that thing all over the place, alternating between a duck hook and block right (of course it was regular flex).

Have a Rombax 7Z08 in my Titlist 909D3 driver. I find it silky smooth. Great control.

Great point. I have been thinking about getting my TM Burner a new shaft but am unsure on what brand to get. I know you can gauge what type of shaft to get by your swing speed, but there are a couple of different brands to look at.

What do you guys think is the best shaft for your money? Any ideas for my TM Burner? Swing speed is between 112-114 mph.

Swing speed alone isn't enough to pick the right shaft. Are you a swinger or are you a hitter? What you want the ball to do is also important.

I would def. say I'm a swinger. That sounds awesome btw.

I hit all my clubs the same except for my driver. I open my stance real wide and place the ball at the center of my feet. I also take about half a back swing so I can stay together or more in control. I just want to be consistent with my ball. I hit my TM Burner 9.5 pretty well, but find my self choking down on the shaft for more control but I lose distance in the end. I feel like I need a shorter shaft and one that also has more flex.

What is your budget? Low launch, high launch? And by more flex do you mean softer flex or stronger flex?

For myself, there really isnt a budget. I launch the ball pretty high, so Im not looking for a high launch shaft. I was just wondering what people think about the Fuji Rombax (or Montore)or Graffaloy Axis shafts.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
