Is it really that difficult for people who chew to spit in the rough? This is like •••••••s who spit saliva on sidewalks when there is grass or a bush just off the sidewalk.

I smoke, but I dont understand people that throw them on the ground. I just put them out and throw them in to one of the 14 pockets i have in my bag. or in my cargo pocket.

I dont understand chewing seeds, all it does to me is make me super thirsty. So I drink a ton that translates into me pissing every 2-3 holes.

Just as bad what? I chew tobacco and i spit on the greens all the time. And no matter what the conditions are, spit doesn't turn into goo on the green. Plus i spit on the green and step on it. Don't get mad at other peoples habits just cuz its something they like to do. People are on the course to have a good time and relax. I highly doubt that you would mark your ball in some slimy anything none the less. I dont see anyone that cries about bird shit on the greens. Its life man, dont get all upset cuz someone spits on the green. Take it like a man and play your game.

I'm assuming this was written as a joke to get people riled up. Nobody really thinks this way, do they?

At least he appropriately compared what is coming out of his mouth to bird shit. Would the person mind if it was urine on the green? Both are a byproduct of bodily functions. Granted, one is more waste than the other. I don't want to deal with either. I haven't played with a spitter yet, but have had to ask folks not to spit seeds on the greens before.

I've chewed in the past and didn't spit because I thought it was disgusting. The only visual analogy I can come up with right now is to think of the fairway/rough as a sand trap. Everyone has had sand come back at them when hitting out of it. I know I occasionally get grass come back at me when hitting. I don't want to deal with the day it is spit covered and sticks...

At least urine is sterile.

Next time bring a towel with you so when you go on the greens you can use the towel to pick up those yucky sunflower seeds or you can soak up the whole gallon of spit that is on the green. And then you and your buddies can cherish the moment when you saved the green from destruction.

Why do people even feel the need to chew seeds or tobacco or smoke even??!!? It does nothing for your health, it's disgusting, no one likes people that do it, and it frustrates everyone around you. It's like people that litter, are they really that lazy that they can't throw stuff away in a trash can 5 feet away? Anyone that does these things should be banned from the course in my opinion or put on probation or in rehab classes or something.

Chewings like a laxitive for me. Some of my best craps are while having a good chew. Hey you asked.

As a tobacco chewer this rant really hurt my feelings, especially
since no one likes me since I chew tobacco...

I agree, tobacco spit is not good to putt through, so I avoid spitting on the green... I will spit on the other parts of the course though, the spit is absorbed quickly into the ground... What's wrong with using the trees or a bush for a relief station? If I relieve myself on the course into a cedar bush or somesuch it's highly unlikely that you could even find your golf ball in said bush, much less play it

That's probably a good rule of thumb everyone can agree with. If it's OK to pee there, it's OK to spit chew there (and conversely if it's not OK to pee there, don't spit chew there.)

If you wouldn't have any problem with the foursome ahead of you taking a piss on the green, then by all means spit. Otherwise, go spit where you pee.

Urine and spit are two completely different topics here. Ill spit where ever i want to. But im not gunna urinate on the course. Whether it be a Bush, tree, rock, desert, green, fairway, rough, maybe the bunker for laughs, but nothing else. Its spit, so get over it. By the time the next group is there anyway, its gone. Yay!

Urine and spit are two completely different topics here.

The point is most of your fellow golfers look at your chew spit and your urine in a similar light. Maybe you don't (and that's fine for you), but perhaps you should try and put yourself into the shoes of your fellow golfers and see things from their point of view.

Its spit, so get over it. By the time the next group is there anyway, its gone.

Is it gone? Did you happen to miss the posts by people who have had their ball land in chew spit on a green? Obviously it's not gone if people are noticing it on their balls.

Really. Banned? Placed on probation? Perhaps we can just skip all the silly details and send them straight to a "re-education" camp where they can learn "Health Uber Alles" (health, above all). I don't smoke or use sunflower seeds or chew for that matter but people that have this "I don't like it so off with his head" attitude are the biggest pain in the @$$es on the planet. Get off your high horse and just live and let live.

This is like trying to tell a smoker that his smoke bothers others. He'll never believe it, and the chewer will never admit that his spitting is a problem for others. They are so addicted that they can rationalize just about anything about their habit.

And.... don't any of your courses have rest rooms????? Do you all have such weak bladders that you can't wait to use the facilities provided?

Is it really that hard to not spit on a green? Seriously spitting on a green whether its from chewing or not is like giving a big ol "F YOU" to the course you're playing on. Have a little respect and keep it to the side.

I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
