Ive never seen so many 290 AVERAGE yard drivers before in my life as i have in this thread. WOW! Whenever im playing, I rarely see the long ball hitters who can AVERAGE 290 off the tee, and I play A LOT. Sure I see them here and there, but dang, this thread is full of 290 yard AVERAGE drive guys!

No wind (unlikely in Texas), full swing, Texas hard clay roll out conditions.

Driver: 240-260 (depends on course conditions, wind, etc...most of the time closer to 240 though!)

As you can see, not a big hitter. I scoop my irons and don't take much a divot, and don't get my hands ahead of the ball at impact, which creates loft on the club, which is why I hit my irons short...

but it's ok as long as I'm accurate.

Driver: 250-270 (Longest was 290) Hitting better now with my TM R9 460 10.5*. I absolutely love that driver. I hit similar distances with my dad's 2009 TM Burner but about 10-20 yards shorter but I feel more comfortable with my driver.

5: 190
6: 175
7: 160
8: 150
9: 135

I'm pretty new to the game but my dad has been teaching me and he's been playing for a long time. He says I hit it with very good form, especially considering how I've only been playing for about 5 weeks. I'm just glad that I consistently hit them straight. I've been going to the range about 4-5 times a week to practice and can't wait to hit the actual course which I know is a LOT different from the driving range from what I hear. Oh and disregard my handicap index because well I don't know what it is yet.

Ive never seen so many 290

Ive only played with a couple guys who could probably average that kind of distance off the tee, ive been playing for a little over a year and my longest drive ever is about 265 yards, actually just equalled that with my new driver I got a couple weeks ago but I had to smash it perfectly and my friend hit his driver the best he can hit it and outdrove me by some distance, he just simply has a higher swing speed than me, he's quite a bit taller than me and has a longer swing(im 5'11', he's about 6'4") and has been playing a lot longer than me, even if he hits it poorly, he'll still get 250+ almost every time. I outdrove him once last week because he clipped a tree and only hit it about 230, i got 235. One other player ive played with i would say would average at least 300 yards is a pretty big guy, prob around 300 lbs, but just a big stocky guy who flat out knocks the thunder out of the ball, we were playing a 345 yd par 4 and he didnt drive the green but just missed it to the right even with the pin, just the sound when he hits it, you can tell its going far. Some guys i have played with give me some grief when they're hitting an 8and im hitting a 6 the same distance but who cares as long as it gets to the target, at my best I could only hit a 6 iron about 165 and usually in the 150-155 range but i realize this and dont try to hit it further, i know my limits now and dont try to push them, it will only cause bad shots.

Yeesh. I hit my 3H about 185 and my 5i about 160. I'm wimpy.

Those are averages for decent contact. "Shot of my life" is more like 200 with the 3H and 180 with the 5i.

I've never tried hitting my clubs, though it's an interesting concept. I much prefer to hit balls. I find them much more aerodynamically suitable.

just came accross this..made me giggle! hahahah!

Driver- 200-220

Those arent bad at all, ive watched a few lpga events on tv and many of those players who are the best in the world dont average more than 240-250 off the tee, prob the longest is about 270 like lorena, and shes #1 and they dont bomb their irons a mile either, they are usually using about the same club I would for any given distance and Im no long hitter, distance comes from more experience. I wish i had started back in high school as well, im 35 now and have only been playing about 15 months, decided to pick the game up last year on a whim because a couple buddies wanted to play and I said I'll go too and have been playing ever since.

I've never seen so many people hit their 9-irons 160 yards. Most pros don't average that. But apparently the 20 handicappers here do...
