Driver advice

So I have a 10.5 degree driver. I have been teeing the ball up super high and its been giving me more accuracy off the tee and better contact. However, I am hitting the ball SOOO high right now. Would I get more distance and better ballflight if I switched to a 9 degree and still teed it high? Everytime I try to tee the ball lower once in a while a hit a nice stinger that goes 280-290, but the majority of the time I duck hook the ball.

Why not try to move it back in your stance a little bit? Or Tee it down a tad bit?

this problem could be due to not transfering weight properly to your front foot, if you work on that then the problem may be solved

im in the same boat. but i went from %80 topping and %20 290+ with a 9.5 just switched to.....

A 11.5 now%33 duck hooking-200 yards and
%33 pure power draw 280-300 and
33% off the toe to 250. (i usually hit where I aim so the duck hooks and toes always get fairway roll, or I'd be screwed)

I use 4"tees all the way up and a little forward. just got the club so need to practice a little.

duck hooks I can live with. BTW my HI is falling everytime i play.

Bentur you are on to something thanks, I was at the range last night and realized I might be doing a slight reverse pivot. I started shifting my weight forward to the point were I was losing balance after the swing (just to get into the habit/get the feeling of really shifting all my weight forward) and was hitting rockets. I am still fighting a bit of a pull, but I will get that fixed.

But the problem is probably with the swing, not so much the driver.

Bring your driver in to the golf store and try out the 9 degrees compared with your driver on the launch monitor and see what delivers the best result and see if they will exchange the club.

Well I have only used this $13 maltby driver head 3 times, today the 11.5* did this.(no warm-ups either) 1.top 50 yards 2. top 75 yards 3 draw down middle 250 4 push low and away180 into hazard 5. draw into trees(no branches!) came out on fairway 275 6. dead push to 2 oclock 280 7. worm burner to 180 Back nine I began to understand where the ball needs to be and how high tee needs to be etc. 8. straight drive, just off of fairway 280(right) 9. slight push into rough 275 10. slight cut right uphill 245 rough 11. straight drive on a 500yd to 280+ dead middle (160 out on 2nd) Just googlemapped it and it was 300-310. 12 dead straight into rough 275 13 topped a ball 80 yards(posted an 8) 14. drove 300+ downhill with tail wind and got on par 5 in 2 (missed eagle putt from 25 ft)made birdie shot a 95, had a 9 on 1st hole and an 8 on 17 (both were tops) The back nine was damn good for me. the 17th hole top was remedied at 18 by moving the ball slightly towards center and using all of the grip, the result was probably 300yds on the next hole, im about to google map it. I verified around 300 even, but it carried 270 and bounced off the fairway then into the rough and onto the next fairway by a foot so im sure the rough slowed it down. 51 front 44 back course is 71 rate 128 slope 6500 yards THis new driver is a big improvement.
