I don't have a current picture of my Ruger P95, but its almsot the same as this model. Just got back into shooting after being out for several years. I used to be able to shoot with my brother then I moved! Eventually I want to pick up a 1911 (or inherit my wife's grandfathers Colt 1911 - his WWII service piece, but I'd rather wait on that if you follow me). So little money, so many toys!

So, I avoided this thread until a few minutes ago because I thought it was going to be about biceps. That's what I get for living in California

Something about having the job of shooting people in the head isn't appealing...

Depends whose head, now, doesn't it? It's like the joke about what a sniper in Iraq feels when he kills an Al Qaeda guy: recoil.

A friend of mine took me shooting a few months after I took up golf. I couldn't handle a 9mm, and could barely handle a .22 (pistols, both). A different friend is going to take me around Xmas time this year to that kind of range, and I'm going to take him to my kind of range, since he wants to try this. My arms (and strength in general) has built up thanks to golf, so I can probably handle a small weapon now.

Modern sniper doctrine has changed from exclusively head shots to center mass. Since most of our enemies these days do not have a medical support structure you could hit them pretty much anywhere with a .308 or .223 andthey are out of the fight.
