Looking at the sites for next year's majors - seems to be another Tiger-slam in the making if he wins this PGA Championship.

The Master s - Tiger's won at Augusta four times already.
The US Open is at Pebble Beach - Tiger won the 2000 US Open there
The Open Championship is at St. Andrews - Tiger won the Open Championship there in 2000 and 2005.

And he's won the last three PGAs he's played in (again, counting it as 2010 with a win at Hazeltine), so no matter where that is he'd be the favorite.

And I think it annoys him that he doesn't get much credit for having all four majors at one time with all the "it's not a real slam" thing. A year is almost arbitrary in that regard.

On top of another Tiger Slam, how awesome would it be if he won his 18th at St. Andrew's? It seems appropriate.

Tiger didn't spray his drives like he does now back in 2000. His big block to the right will find itself in the Pacific if it shows up at Pebble this time.

Aren't we getting ahead of ourselves a bit here?...Tiger needs to win tomorrow before he can think about a 'slam' or anything approaching it. I think that Tiger will win a major next year but to say that he'll win all of them is very optomistic.

Paddy or Yang to win tomorrow...anybody but Tiger ( ).

Uh, what Tiger are you watching? He's somewhere around 75% driving accuracy for the week on the longest course to host a major. He put in really great performances at Muirfield Village, Firestone, and Warwick Hills - the latter two with some of the tighter fairways on the PGA Tour. His misses are smaller now than they were three years ago.

Compare the stats if you want (he's probably 5-10% less accurate now), but in 2000 the average course was 400 yards shorter and the fairways were five to seven yards wider.

Honestly, it was probably harder for him to pull off the Tiger Slam than it would have been to win the calendar Slam in 2000. If I remember right, he finished T5 in 2000 with a really poor week with the putter. Ironically enough, Vijay had a good week with the putter and won. Usually the two of them are on opposite ends of the spectrum with the putter! Anyway, back to my point about winning the Tiger Slam. You win 3 majors to end the year, and then you have to wait 8 months to have your chance at 4 in a row. And in that 8 months, the pressure builds and builds and builds...and you still manage to pull it off. Pretty incredible when you think about it given all the scrutiny and pressure as well as the amount of time.

Massive edge to Tiger in 2010 since all 4 majors will be on par 72 courses. Whistling Straits will host the PGA. I assume they'll use the same setup as 2004, when it was played as par 72.

That simple criteria, par 72 or not, is more relevant to Tiger's chances than any subjective mush. I think I posted that a month or more ago, that Hazeltine at par 72 could be a perfect tonic despite Tiger's poor major results this year.

Frankly, I think par 72s are more interesting and legit, so Tiger probably should have more majors than he does now, minus the garbage alterations to par 70, chopping down par 5s.

I know a couple of golf bettors who have said they intend to take a flyer on Tiger winning the Grand Slam next year if they can get decent odds in the offseason, based on the par 72 realities.

Tiger is 6 of 8 at par 72 courses in non-Augusta majors. And if he wins today, that number moves to 7 of 9. Pretty amazing.

Correct as Yang did win, Tiger didn't.

Looking at the 2010 major venues, one constant stands out: all three are seaside (or in Whistling Straits' case, lakeside) courses where the wind can become the dominant factor of a tournament. If Tiger (or anyone else) wants to win a major next year, he'd better get to work on controlling his ball flight over the winter, because that may be the difference between missing the cut on Friday and being in contention on Sunday.

Tiger needs to work on the 'stinger' shot that we hardly ever see anything of these days.
