To be honest, by asking if you’re trolling, @iacas is giving you the benefit of the doubt...

...the only other response to “I play slow, and honestly do not care about who is behind me.” Is to believe that you’re just rude and completely insensitive to others around you.

And those times you are arguing are slow for me personally.  But I also am pragmatic to realize if I try to play 9 holes in under 90 mins, I am costing myself strokes.  That's me personally.  I also don't bulldoze those who play 2 to 2.5 hour 9 hole rounds, because that's a reasonable time for most people.

18 holes in under 2 hours, group of 4?  6.6 mins per hole?  1 min 36 secs per stroke (if they shot par).  That's pretty cool story.

And that 1 min 36 secs per stroke is for 1 person.  Doesn't factor in the other players, and needing to travel to the ball between shots.  Again, cool story.

2:10 for a two-some, sub-2:30 for 4.

Now you understand why I say that you might not understand the speed with which some can comfortably play...and play relatively well.

What you’re comfortable with does not necessarily translate to others.

I dont want argue about this at all, but if someone is stuck behind me they can come up and ask to play through, but where I play the Starter tell folks, "Dont rush others and be patient". I took that as okay I dont need to worry about who is behind me and I dont need to rush anyone in front of me if there playing slower than me.

Sorry, for the run on sentence.

If that's what your course instructs people so be it.

In general, it is the slower group in front that should have the courtesy to invite the faster group through.

Take that approach to an extreme and you will wind up with 6+ hour rounds.  Pace of play is important for everybody to have a fun round.  It is painful being on a course where you wait for every shot because the group in front is so slow.  I once played behind a group who were very slow and refused to let us go through.  Unfortunately they were members and I was not, so didn't want to face issues at the course.  That kind of thing is enough to put people off from returning.  You are not helping the growth of the golf game by playing at a slow pace and not caring about it.  You really should be quicker

You might think it does, but if you actually play a bit quicker, you will actually see better results.  The reason is because you are playing when your muscles are warm, rather than after it has cooled down.  Try it a couple of rounds and see the difference.

Let me give you some details here, I am -playing- the fast group decides not to wait for me at the tee box to ask if they can play though. So its quite frustrating when someone asks you during your stroke.

As I said in another thread I have a hard time elaborating details.

So let me get this right, you're saying that groups approach you and interrupt you and ask you during the middle of your swing if they can play through?

I don't believe you.

If you were at the course I play at I could you show you numerous people that have no respect for me and the other slow players.

What you're saying here is "I don't give  a ***t about anyone else.

I can tell you without any hesitation that if you played at any club I've played at and had that attitude, within a week you would be known as the biggest jerk in the club and the only people who would play with you would be others who noone else could stand. Also, you'd put your name down on a timesheet and turn up to find, mysteriously, that you were suddenly playing on your own.

There is a 100% correlation between arsehole golfers and arsehole people. If you are a selfish dick on the course, it means that that's what you are in life.

You have admitted it by saying that you don't care if people behind you have to wait for you. And that slow play works for you.

Yes slow play works for me. I said this earlier those people behind me have disrespected me by teeing off when I am in the middle of the fairway and on top of that told me, if they could play through while I am in the middle of the fairway making my second shot. So why should I care about them if they dont care about me and my safety?

If you’re playing by yourself and groups are playing through....you’re still the problem. No way in hell should a 2-4 ball be waiting on you if you’re by yourself.

    • Day 364: About an hour and a half practice session. Spent most of it at the range. Did a solid 30 minutes of work on my priority piece, with filming. I think it's improving, but will probably check in on Evolvr to make sure. Then spent the last ~20 minutes putting, working mostly on short putts.

    • Day 79 (19 July 25) - Band rehearsal this morning - got home midafternoon, opted to work more with the magnetic alignment tool with the wedges.  Used it to work on face position at the bottom of the swing arc - followed up with easy pitches up to 50yds.  Seeing better face control and over improved accuracy toward target…session was cut short with pop up rain showers.
    • This is a great discussion. Other parts of the course where there are houses have white stakes and signs. This keeps people from trespassing and hitting shots on their property. There is another county road on the east side of the course that does not have white stakes like the hole I described. I checked the score card and there is nothing to indicate these roadways are OB. I think a county drainage ditch would be considered government right-of-way so it is the peoples land 🤣. But you are in the power industry and know more about those sorts of things than me.
