I never wrote anything about the Yankee Stadium. I do not care about that stadium. All I care about is Fenway Park, and want the Green Monster to live forever. Baseball in the US will never be the same if Fenway is ever demolished and the Green Monster disappears into the mists of the past.

Apology accepted. We Red Sox fans are NOT alike. SOME of us take a realistic view of our team's prospets. The Sox need to make some changes if they want to get to the World Series next year.

By the way, I DO LOVE Fenway Park and all its traditions.

If they want to max out on profit they can build another that looks just like it only bigger and cleaner with better amenities no?

maybe break the old down and build around the monster during the off season

Fenway is an awesome park though, been there once to see pedro pitch. Now hes on the phils so I hope to see a lot more of him. But really a new stadium will be a lot better. The new phillies stadium is ridiculously nice, although lets face it the vet was pretty rough.

It is very SIMPLE: in this century, the Boston Red Sox have won TWICE AS many World Series as the Yankees. The highest TV ratings for a World Series in this century were in 2004 when the Red Sox won. The Red Sox are #1, and the Yankees have to dump Damon, Swisher, Matsui, and Pettitte and get some YOUNG BLOOD, or they will NOT win the World Series in 2010. And we all know that.

Does it really hurt being this much of an idiot? The Red Sox and Yankees have won the same amount of WS titles since 2000: two.

Yes, the Yanks should get rid of Johnny Damon. Let's get rid of someone who posted an OPS+ of 126 from the two hole. That's bright. Let's also get rid of Swisher, who is 28 years old and a switch hitter, hit 29 homers, 21 of which came on the road. I saved you the trouble of posting more stupidity like "Swisher's homeruns were a product of Yankee Stadium." (I doubt it, though, even after reading this you're still liable to make that claim) We should get rid of his 380 OBP and OPS+ of 129, from the 6th hole or later. He's also making only $5 million a year. Yup, get rid of him, too. Let's pray to god you don't give golf lessons.

Interesting. I heard a Yankee fan at the party talking about dropping Damon ... all I could get out of him was ... 'well, he's getting older' great ... aren't we all?

well good enough is not good enough for us Yankee fans or George either.I guarantee one day after the series and before the parade they knew who was going and who they were going after. The Ny Post who I have dutifull toiled for for the last 35 years had the Grandison to the yanks along with Ordonez for Joba and 2 lower kids the day after the parade so it is NEVER off season in NY Yankee land.

They better not build a new one. Fenway is the best stadium in America. Much better than that queer ivy in Chicago. Wowww, awesome.

I hope they leave Fenway alone, now that they built a brand new Yankee Stadium, there aren't that many old school ballparks left Side note: I did go to Game 1 of the Playoffs between the Angels and Red Sox over at Angel's Stadium. I'm a HUGE Red Sox fan and it wasn't fun (for me) and I was getting harassed. I wore my Red Sox shirt and ended up having to take it off because the Angels fans were just RUDE AND MEAN!! I had beer spilled all over my jacket and was told to go home, numerous times. And I'm short and petite and the BF thought it was THE BEST game ever

I agree with you. Fenway has tradition, coziness, and the Green Monster as a landmark. It would be a real shame to see it replaced. Thank God the fans in Boston and New England agree with me in every poll taken by the "Boston Globe". Sometimes, bigger is not better, and sometimes, but not often, big money developers do not get their way.

What was wrong with Ryan Howard in the World Series. He was swinging hard at every pitch, and seemed to get increasingly frustrated. Does anyone have a clue? Was the pitching that good that they continually pitched to his weak spots, and he could not adjust?

    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
