That's fair. I don't want to tell others how to dress. I just think the clothes look stupid and wouldn't personally wear them. And if I saw a friend wearing them anywhere I'd probably rib him about it. I don't know why you'd want to look like an "edgy golfer" but I wouldn't tell someone they're not allowed to.

Not dissimilar to some of the Bunker Mentality gear to be fair.

For me I tend to like contemporary golf gear but not "look at me! look at me!" golf gear. The tattoo stuff I wouldn't wear on course (coming from a guy with 4 tattoos, one of which is a next to belt, left to right backpiece. lol)

This reminds me of when I coached soccer and girls would come in with "flash" shoes (bright pink, orange, etc.).  Our only advise was that you better bring the game to "earn" the shoes.  So my thought is that if you are wearing these to look edgy or cool then you better bring the game to match.  Rickie Fowler gets away with his style because he can earn a couple million $ on the PGA tour (and, presumably gets paid a boatload to wear them).

That said, if you just like the look go for it.  My preference tends to brighter colors so that's what I wear.  Whether I have the game to justify it is more up to the viewer rather than me.  And FYI I've had my eye on a pair of Loudmouth pants - but gotta knock a few more strokes off the handicap before I'll feel comfortable in them.  But would love to wear them to the office on casual Friday!

Are you serious?  You have to have a certain level of game to wear certain clothes or you have to "earn" wearing certain things?  Come on.

I guess these clothing lines like Loudmouth and Tattoo golf should verify your handicap first, before your allowed to wear their clothing .....LOL! Honestly, I think some of it is cool. I personally don't care if you wear them or not, its a style. Some want to call it edgy some call it inappropriate. Who cares? I could call out some of the people I see who are dressed to the tee in "Tiger" Nike apparel or the un-athletic/overweight guy decked out in Under Armor? I am not trying to be a jerk or offend anyone, but there is no difference between any of these styles.......

I don't think there's a rule, but for me personally, I avoid dressing like Ricky Fowler or wearing loud shirts or pants.  IMO it's partially a fashion statement and part statement of your performance level.  I don't want to dress in a manner that my game can't back up but for anyone else I think they should wear what they want.

Exactly my feeling.  I was never into the metal scene, but I get the feeling that lots of guys on this board would think of me as a dirty Cali hippy, so it's not that I want to only look like an investment banker or anything, but this stuff is just lame.  More lame and sophomoric than fun and hip.  Makes me think Ed Hardy on a lame 45 year old in a mid life crisis.  Oh wait, 45 year old in a mid-life crisis who'd wear Ed Hardy...  I think that entire demographic plays golf.  Maybe this is a genius business idea...

And I thought the same thing about the name.  Are you f---ing kidding me?  Did a 12 year old start this company?  Or did the founder just let his 12 year old come up with the name, no questions asked?

I would never wear the stuff.  But I find it funny how people are calling golf the "gentleman's game", and they should not dress in stuff like this.  How many "gentlemen" dressed nicely at the golf course have you seen get mad, throw a club, or curse out loud?  How many "gentlemen" have you seen drunk on the course and making an ass out of themselves?  I have seen plenty.

I don't like the skulls but I do like flashy, bright colors.  My favorite polos are red, orange, and a bright yellow.

Some of their apparel I like, some is just too much though. First saw them advertised on rock bottom golf for pretty cheap so I figured I get a couple. I went with a couple of the more tame shirts, and they look fine. Even got a few compliments on them. There are much more flashy outfits being worn on the golf course than shirts/hats from Tattogolf.

Wow.  I can't beleive some think what a person wears on the golf course is a statement of performance level.  Sorry, but that is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.  I have never thought, or been with anyone that said "I hope his game can back up those clothes"

If a person is complying to a dress code, if there is one, I could care less what they wear, and I certainly don't relate it to their ability.  I wouldn't wear the clothes linked in this thread, but they aren't bad.  I've seen plenty of "gentlemen" on the course with much worse 'fashion sense'.  As mentioned, fashion is a personal preference.  I'm sure there are plenty of folks that wouldn't wear what I wear.  I had no idea I wore my ability level to the course...

Not my style but I have no problem at all with people wearing whatever works for them as long as it's within the course regulations.  Now, my wife, if she was a golfer... that would be a different story.
