Where I am currently. More work to be done with the transition. Looks like I have slipped into an old habit with my hips there on the backswing a bit, so I'll look to clean that up.

I was going to say the ball looks too far back/handle too far forward for that sort of trajectory, but you pull it off perfectly so ...

That's luck. Here's one I bladed: Pretty much every video I have of myself blading one is because the ball's way too far back, which is stupid because that shot was from behind a bunker, and a no-bounce chip over a bunker to a narrow green isn't a great plan for success. Can't seem to get it through my thick skull that I have to move the ball forward.

And not worry about any sort of shift or transfer. Set 90% weight forward, then just leave it there. No adding. PIVOT, don't slide for pitches.

Try this, take your stance like you do, then bring your front foot more towards your back one, maybe half your swing width. So the order would be, set up as normal, then bring your front foot back. This will help you be able to keep your weight forward with out shifting, and the ball would be effectively further up in your stance because now you shifted the swing back to meet it by moving were it bottoms out further back.

Hey!  I like that!  seems so simple and no need to even think of shifting weight forward as this automatically does it for you. It felt awkward with a short iron as at first stance felt too narrow, but the results were immediate. No guess work, just "half your swing width" with whatever club your have.  Thanks!

Not looking for advice or anything at the moment (feel free to post your thoughts if you'd like, of course), but for posterity here are the last videos I'll probably be able to take for a few months (including the first rear video I've posted): Some things still need a lot of work.

Looking much better (at the pieces you've needed to work on).

Next you're going to need to clean up the exits (keeping your PP4 and PP5 intact longer) to stop hitting out so far (you may be flashing it left with the little roll-over of #3).

Found out today that they closed down my driving range, East Coast Golf, to build some baseball fields and retail shops. I guess it makes sense because of all the development in the area (they just build a new plaza with Wegmans, Dick's Sporting Goods, Kohls, BJ's, etc. across the street), but on their website the owner says they were profitable up until the end. I guess I can believe that, but they made a bunch of moves that would indicate otherwise. I'm mostly upset that I still had 10 paid-for buckets on my membership card that I'll never get to use. It looks like I'll have to go to this place: http://southboroughgolf.com/membership.asp I'm not particularly happy about it. They have a tendency to nickel and dime you over every last thing. For instance, you can buy memberships, but you have to pay $2 to use the grass tees every time. The big benefit of a membership is that I don't have to bring cash every time. Ugh. I liked ECG's membership area. They had a machine so that you could just swipe your card rather than talking to a guy who tries to sell you on lessons. They kept that grass in decent shape, and it was wide open (i.e. plenty of space to set up the camera and not get in the way of other people) since the membership area was on the opposite side of the range. The short game area wasn't in terrific shape but it was HUGE, and if the range was empty you could hit right from the range to the short game area to simulate half wedge shots. The only downside was that during the summer the membership side was looking directly at the setting sun. Also, the putting green did suck. Anyway, just venting. RIP ECG. If anyone wants to open a nice driving range near the intersection of the Mass Pike and I-495 in Massachusetts, I can't offer up a investment but I'll be your first customer and help you spread the word. :-D

Finally got to hit some range balls the past few days after over 3 months of nothing. Took some video. Looks like a lot of the old stuff that I still need to work on. These are all the current 12-20-13 video on the left against the 8-12-13 videos from August. Obviously the lighting isn't terrific in the recent videos. Only real difference I see on the DTL comparisons are at A4. In August I was square to slightly over the line, this time I'm slightly laid off. For face on, at A1 there are a few old issues. My grip has migrated stronger, my hands aren't as far forward, and my stance looks a tiny bit wider. At A2 and A3, my hips are moving farther backwards but my head is still in roughly the same spot. And as a result of that, I'm slightly more upright at A4. Not getting my weight as far forward at impact. Less shaft lean. Yuck.

No your hips aren't sliding forward like they used to during the backswing. Lots of good stuff.

Your hips do need to get more forward and more open (think of sliding them towards second base and the shortstop just a little bit more). Forward and open.

The rest looks better than when you were here. I think @mvmac will agree.

Yeah absolutely.  Backswing looks pretty good, make sure the weight doesn't get too much into your toes at A1.  Downswing, more "squish the ball under the left foot" as the hips open.

    • Oh I'm dumb, I just noticed I did the MyStrategy from the wrong tee box. I don't think it changes anything, though. I'll play it as a three shot hole and I still don't really want to miss right (guy I played with on Sunday never found his ball he hit just over the trees right). I think the trees left are considered part of the environmentally sensitive area because it's part of the drainage area for the course. I actually like this hole a lot. I'll try to remember to take a picture next time. I probably overestimated the wind speed. We had sustained winds of like 12-15mph with gusts up to 25mph. The wind is actually forecast to be WNW on Saturday instead of WSW like was when I played on Sunday so if I play this hole again the wind will be pushing towards that bunker. Similar speeds, though. Wind is always a factor at this course because there's really nothing blocking it. I'm definitely going to have to pay attention to it, especially with the wind. I hit a handful of short iron approaches a lot farther than I thought I would on Sunday. As of right now the only thing I know for sure is I'm starting on Ridge. I don't know if the back 9 will be played on Meadow or Lake.
    • Day 113: 4/18/24 Stack training progress check after finishing my 6th program, and 4th Full Speed Spectrum Training session, which is recommended for my next program.     Gained 1 mph with driver, 195 g, 95g. Maintained with 280 g , and gained 2 with 145 g. Lost 1 mph on both lead and trail arm. Felt like I lost distance in my last round…
    • Please forgive the sweaty shirt.  Just got off the treadmill and decided to do my Evolvr drill.
    • I'd agree that 4w seems like the right play here. I'm not a course designer or anything but that hole looks like it could be so much more fun if everyone played from those front 2 tee boxes that are right outside your shot cone and they cut down most of the trees down that left side of the fairway. That would give risk reward to long hitters who want to try and push it up to that left fairway, allow more players to reach that second fairway, and still allowing it to be perfectly playable for someone who only hits driver like 150yds off the tee.   Yeah it looks like 4iron aimed at that inside edge of the right bunker is the play there, especially if you don't expect a 20mph tailwind again. If it is down wind again, 5iron would be just fine too, it'd still get you inside 150yds for your approach.  Keep in mind tee marker locations too, you measured that one from the back so if those tee markers are moved all the way towards the front of that box then 5 iron is probably best just to be sure that right bunker is never in play.
    • Day 1: worked on my drill for my arms.
