Some great pictures there.Course looks good.

Surprised the turnout was so poor though, even with Tiger pulling out. There was still 18 of the world's top players on show.

yah looks pretty dead... surprised you didnt get caught with no one else to hide your camera;)

I was actually very good, left the cell phone and camera in the car...but I did get to meet Anthony Kim and Kenny Perry. Very awesome, although it was a little cold there!!

Yeah, today was the best way to get this close to the top players in the world. It was a treat. Too bad my head was burried in my camera's viewfinder most of the time. The good and the bad of liking photography. I don't really get to watch... I did get to see Furyk stick it on 18 though. Awesome shot. That was the time I was leaving. Did he make that putt?

For the most part I had the camera pretty much hidden. But got pretty liberal in whipping it out on some holes. I only got called out twice, on the same tee box, by the same group of guys. Jerks! I had an NBC Sports guy laughing with me at them though.

Yeah he made it.

You got to see a great round today. Harrington had a roller coaster ride of a day with 3 hole outs, (2 of them for an eagle), and Camilo Villegas had a spectacular 2nd shot on the par-5 13th for a double eagle. Amazing shot. Great pictures Ben!

What group called you out?

And who was the NBC guy?Good to see someone kind of 'involved' with the tournament take it in good humour. They go overboard with the camera rules sometimes.Yes, annoying if there's clicking but what's wrong with recording some video when it makes no noise anyway?

.....but what's wrong with recording some video when it makes no noise anyway?

Although much of the "no camera" rules are there to prevent distraction to the players, some of this also derives from intellectual property law. The players (like many other athletes) and the PGA wish to guard the use of their likeness for commercial purposes. If someone took pictures or video of a player and then marketed that, it is infringing on the player's copyright. I'm not saying that this is a big issue or that I agree, but the issue is more than just concern over player distraction.

Enjoyed the sneak shots. Photo info says it was a Casio EXZ77. Did you have the shutter/focus sounds turned off?

The PGA could make some pocket money for their charities if they sold camera permits where you had to demonstrate at the gate that the sucker was inaudible. T

Marketing, I understand as a no no. But they do allow cameras on the practice days, no?

I guess someone doesn't want a shank followed by "#$%#^!" posted on youtube. I can unnerstand that, but for those payouts/perks, I'd consider it a small price to pay.

Valid point.I'm sure that's more of a concern for tour officials though.I doubt too many players would mind being recorded as long as there's no distraction involved.Maybe Woods or Poulter..

What group called you out?

It was just a group of marshals really. Not the players themselves.

Yeah, I have all the noises turned off.

Nice pics.

Sherwood is pretty nice for a real estate course.

It's funny that digital cameras are silent but 95% of the people don't know how to use them (turn off the artificially generated shutter click sound or the auto flash, etc...).

I got to play Sherwood in April so I was interested in watching this event on TV. I don't feel so bad about hitting one in the water at #6 (played as #15 at the Chevron - mid-iron par three over the pools/waterfalls to the shallow green - no bailout - intimidating hole!) I was happy to see a few of the pros duplicate my shot.

Also #18 - seriously tough hole - a good drive leaves you with a mid-iron from a downhill lie to a green that sits on the edge of a water hazard. A very demanding two-shotter with little room for error. I saw a few pros having trouble with it.
