So my mom wants to get my dad a golf getaway for the month of March and he and I are going to go away for a weekend because we'll be very sick of the snow here.

We live in NW Pennsylvania and I'm looking for some ideas on where to travel to in mid March where it will be comfortable to play golf, but not all the way down south.

Also looking for very reasonable greens fees because we'll have not swung a club in 4 months so I'm not interested in paying $100 for a warm up round.

Any ideas???

why not come out to the San Francisco, Bay Area and play Harding Park. the recent site of the President's cup. you can play a warm up round at Popular Creek in San Mateo just 30 minutes south of SF for under $50. Lincoln golf Course is another public course with outstanding view of the Golden Gate Bridge on three separate holes. Check out golf now for discounted tee times a week ahead.

Enjoy the sites and food and play some golf.

Myrtle Beach offers many options. I take a golf trip there every March. The weather can still be chilly in the mornings though. Florida is a better choice if you are looking for guarantied warm weather. I just got back from a golf trip to Orlando. Played 7 great courses for less than $250.

For a winter trip the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama offers some great venues. Very very good courses at and very good price. One just has to be aware of the weather forecast as it can be balmy or chilly during the dead of winter.
