Yeah, I agree. I doubt Elin would show up, that would just be "distracting" and Tiger probably would play like crap. Although, if she wants to really get back at him, she could just show up unexpectedly on the 12th tee, waiving. Wow that would be funny. I also would love to see Ernie play well, he's been playing great and is deserving of the wins he recently got.

... it is final confirmatiom that all the other players on tour suck.

Yeah, getting beat by the best player in the world surely means you suck.

I think he will be in contention, but to win the Masters, being his first tournament after november? I doubt it. He can do it, no doubt about that, but I think his chances are slimmer than they would've been without the drama. I think he will be better than before after all of this has become history, but the first tournament will be special.

Agreed. I do believe he can do it. Tiger is the best player in the world by quite a stretch. When he plays badly, he's still top 10. Most of his misses are good misses, and he has a knack for getting himself out of his bad misses in spectacular fashion.

That said, I honestly dont believe he will win it. Theres just too much other stuff going on. But once Tiger gets his personal life straightened out, for better or worse, he's going to be better than ever.

Although he is still a favorite going into this tournament, I am also doubtful that he can win this after months of not seeing action. Brings back memory of Michael Jordan coming out of his first retirement but they got beat by Shaq and the Magic in their playoff matchup. Next season out though it was a different story as they swept the Magic on their way to winning an NBA championship again. Sorry to be quite off topic but I predict this is what will happen to Tiger. He may not win this one but he may come out strong in his next tournament.

Elin might not be there, but one of his ladies of the evening is planning to be there. Heard that on the news last night.
Hmmm. Wonder if she will join him on the 18th. if he wins? That could be quite distracting.

Conjecture:
If you think about what he has brought to bare on specific tourneys in the past and consider what it would mean to him to win this tourney, I think you have to say he has a very good chance of winning. I expect him to be oblivious to everything but the shot. If his ball striking is on I think we will see an historic performance. He will be there to crush the competition, not simply win.
Man I love watching Tiger play.

"If"? He'll be lucky to make the cut!

You do realize he has never finished outside the top 25 right?

You do realize he has never finished outside the top 25 right?

And, strictly speaking, he has missed four tournaments only, perhaps five.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I wouldnt be suprised if he missed the cut. He has not played in any tournament conditions in a long time, pressure is going to be at an all time high for him.

Its kind of like going back to work after taking a month off to go to rehab (for those of you who know what that feels like)...gotta get back into the swing of things and that takes a little time.

I don't think he'll miss the cut. Nobody can focus and be prepared like him. As long as the crowd doesn't boo him out there, he will stay focused and play well. How well, we will know in four days!
