I have got a taylormade ladies burner steel 3 wood and i have increased my SS over the winter. I was hitting the ball far too high and had too much spin is this the equipment not being the correct flex/kickpoint or my fault. I am guessing it is a low kickpoint because it is a L Flex shaft

Alright. L represents a Ladies Flex. Its going to be more "Flexable" than say an R-Flex. Kickpoint works this way: A shaft with a high kickpoint promotes a low penetrating flight. A low kickpoint will promote a high ball flight. Go to your local shop and try some different shafts. It may be your swing, but i would put money on that if you went to something with an r-flex or something with a high kickpoint, you will get the ball lower.

hope that helps

do you think the 909F3 will be any good for me

That's the fairway wood right?

they're aimed for single-digit handicappers and are easier to work the ball with. Not good if you don't have a proper consistent swing down yet.

What would you recommend my swing is consistent and hitting off the deck is the main priority for getting one because im a very short hitter and to get my Handicap down i need to hit or get close to greens to get par (i have been seeing a pro over the winter but no competitions as of yet

Pick something that's been designed to be easy to hit.

Cobra make great woods as do Ping. Adams are meant to make very, very good woods and hybrids check them out

this is how I picked my clubs...ask to do a blind test...sure it takes some time...like an hour or so...but you're not influenced in anyway by name brands..just on feel and the results....
after you pick the club that gives you the most consistent hit, feel and promotes confidence.... play it for a while...then look into changing your shafts out... as you establish a repeatable swing that produces a straight ball and a consistent trajectory... you can get shafts to switch out that will get you your optimal ball flight.... don't go TOO crazy...my 2nd season i changed my driver shaft 3 times as my SS increased and I got better... but the 3rd shaft is what I used my 3rd year and going into this year.... don't think I'll be changing it out anytime soon..

I don't want to be buying shafts all the time tho i just want a 3W with a suitable shaft. here is some rough figures i hit my current 3W 170 yards (carry) but i balloon it severely with an L flex shaft that is standard on TM ladies Burner 07 woods is there any recommendations for a particular shaft. I have the Aldila voodoo regular on my driver which is slightly too high when i want to go for it but it is fine when I tee the ball well down.

the flex doesn't determine the ball flight really... it's determined by the kickpoint of the shaft....so your best bet to keep it cheap... research shafts with mid kickpoints so you get the best of both worlds.... the stiffer you go...you can lose distance but gain accuracy.

I think the kickpoint is low because the website says its a High launch shaft

high-launch shafts are there to help players that can't get good ball flight....

are you a male? female? have you had your swing speed measured? what shafts are in your driver and hybrid?

im a 5'3 male aged 15 who was about 4'11 aged 13 when i got it so needed ladies due to length. My 909D2 has an Stock Aldila Voodoo R Flex (not sure on properties) and my hybrid has a RE*AX 60g superfast R flex shaft SS not sure i can carry my drives about 210 in cold conditions so that would be 231 normal 10ºC-20º weather no wind

so your swing speed is around 88 - 92 mph consistently. your driver is using a stock aldila....

http://golfshaftdeals.com/product/ust-v2-65-343.cfm Go with a regular flex. have them cut it down from the butt and don't tip it... you can actually use driver shafts on woods. wood shafts..people like to normally have a heavier weight in their wood shaft... if you want to get your SS up...just use a lighter wood shaft.. mid kick point...and the weight that you'd feel comfortable with. you've been playing for a little bit so you should know what your comfort level and how you want your clubs/shafts to feel.

    • Does it occur to you that your friend is not the arbiter of what is or isn't appropriate?  He is one man with an opinion. And you seem to think that that trumps anyone else's. You may as well say that I as an Australian, represent everyone in my country and have the final say over anything to do with my country.  Funny how this is similar to you you thinking that Florida is doing great on Covid - but then you'd know, so we'll defer to you, in spite of the numbers and facts. You are passive aggressive and a troll. Actually, I don't think you are a troll. I fear you believe your own simplistic arguments. For your information, the Chief Wahoo image is part of an exhibit at the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia.
    • You really don’t get it. Not do you realize how dumb statements like that are, apparently, because nobody would make such statements intentionally if they did.
    • Played 27 Holes today made 7 birdies today finally birdied the 1st, just the second and third left to birdie.
    • I’ll pass that along to him and his people.  👍
    • Played my second round (ever) at the course that I think will be a home course for me next year (the complex has two 18s... I have played the other 18, but not in over a decade).  Birdied #13 to improve my away composite to five birdies and a total of -4 (I still have yet to par a hole nine in 2021 ... anywhere).  My two-round composite at that course is a 77.  By contrast, no birdies so far at my home course (well beyond two rounds played... and at least three scheduled in the next two weeks!), and three holes there I've yet to par.
