Hey guys, anyone try these out yet, have any opinion on them? They look really nice and I was thinking about trying/testing one out. I currently have a scotty newport 2 that I've had for around 4 years. No real need for a new putter, but these look extremely nice. Anyone get to try them out? Let me know what you think!

I've putted a bit with them and thought feel wise they were pretty similar to the studio select models. I didn't really notice any difference between the two (studio select vs. cali), they do look really nice to look down at.

They are gorgeous clubs, there is no doubting that. I hit a few putts with the Cali Coronado the other day. It felt like a Scotty which, for me, meant it felt a little hard. Gorgeous club. Sounds nice. Felt like the other Scotty's. It's just not for me.

I tried a California del mar out at golf mart on Saturday,i just loved it,i am definitely going to buy one.I am getting the one with the 20 gram weights though.I think the 4 degrees of loft will me roll a little better as i putt with a forward press.
Thanks for the info Kpaulhus

I had a tough choice to make when I bought my Scotty last week. It was a Calfornia, or a Studio. I went with the Newport 2, but honestly in the end it was just that I found it a little more pleasing to the eye lookijng down over it. Just a personal preference. But wonderful clubs.

I've putted with them a few times at GolfSmith and gotta say that they are really nice putters. I think that they have a very similar feel to the Studio Select series. Very beautiful to look at, especially the Coronado model.

Right now I have an older Pro Platinum Laguna Two that I got on eBay and then sent to the custom shop to have restored and personalized. It is the most beautiful club I've ever put in my bag!

    • Thing is… a lot of slower swinging players could probably use MORE spin.
    • There is someone at my club who has been noticed putting Vaseline or chap stick on his driver to reduce spin.   The person who told me said that they were told not to do it if money was on the line.   So I guess it’s a thing.
    • Our Mens Golf Association has bylaws that talk about keeping things in the spirit of the game and polices certain behaviors and situations.  The person who runs it is a fierce competitor and when he talks match play strategy, he will say things about how he plays to put pressure on people to win and get into their head by trying to bury them or play aggressively at the start to make an opponent go in the defensive.   He doesn’t trash talk or say things to mess with people. As golfers, or people, there are going to be people who try and exploit anything they can get away with and it’s best to be prepared to deal with it and not let it bother you.  People who are jerks and push it too far will get reputations and in the end if they are excessive, it’ll rebound on them.
    • Not sure about middle schoolers, but I found out at some point early in my golf playing that the high school I went to was notorious for cheating at golf.  Supposedly the coach had players cut a hole in a pocket so they could drop a ball.  I didn't play in high school, but I know who the golf coach was when I was there and it wouldn't surprise me if he did that. I didn't realize there was a reason to not clean one's clubs.  After a shot, I'll almost always wet then dry the face of a club, and I'll check if a face is clean before I hit and will give it a quick wiping before hitting if I think it needs it.  I thought that I did was far more common practice.
    • No clue how to repair something like that, but I am wondering how a club gets a dent like that in it. That is a serious crater.
