Introducing the most versatile golf training aide. The Torc's spiral design locks securely in place. Allowing you to position training weight to 3 key points.

I have one of these. (as you know)
I really like it.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

thanks for the link. I thought I lost mine, until it showed up randomly when I was cleaning the house. Now it will stay on a used club.

Went up to Erie after my 2nd round tournament today. 🤣

The first video Erik takes, I stripe the ball. My initial thought is I hate this game. 🤣 He wanted a swing that was causing me issues, lol.

Anyways…

1) Hands need to get more depth from A1 to A2, letting the turn gain the depth. A small bit of wrist roll to open the club face.

2) From A3 thru A4, roll the wrist over using the forearms to shallow the club, keep it shallowing thru transition as I lower the arms down to my right side. Make sure I do this while keeping width.

Club will feel open, but will square up into impact. Very hard to keep the clubface open.

Starting the shallowing early helps. Previous with the swing saw shallow to steep, and it’s nearly impossible to go shallow to steep to shallow.

Reflection of today's range session.

1) More exaggeration feel of getting the hands deeper with the turn. The older patter is coming back, not as bad, but not as good as Sunday. Just needs more attention.

2) Don't conflate shallowing the club with old patter of hands out and flipping the club in. Roll needs to happen later in backswing. Goes towards the above, hands need to just gain depth early. Club head stays out a bit more.

3) Watch out for right elbow retracting or over-bending. shallow club with wrists and forearms.

4) I am feeling more the hands down to my right side. I am feeling the difference between steepening the club and hitting with club head more underneath the hands, shallower. If I make a swing, closer to speed, I know if I've gotten steeper. A positive sign.

I need to keep the club shallowing down to A5. Club is inline with my right arm.

Club is well above my right arm. Which is still progress from some swings where the club is passing near my shoulder.

So, more shallowing! 🤣

It's lowering at least as much as it's "shallowing."

Yea, I think the toughest part is lowering arms. At a certain point, I will twist/turn, and then I steepen the club. I have a handful of videos where the hands lower from A4 to A5-ish, then the club path steepen because I am trying to turn through to hit the ball. My arms just stop, and I send my hands out to get the clubbed out to the ball.

Ok, it’s a grind, but a bit of progress.

given this is one of many, but seeing more of this now. Small progress.

Better hand depth in the backswing. club shallows into A4.  Entire arm structure falls down to my right side. What I like is that my right arm doesn’t collapse and fold into my body.

I have to feel that my back is staying pointed at the target until my hands get to A6. No twisting! I really gotta trust that I am going to turn through impact.

I am trying to rewire my brain/body into believing that I can hit the ball if my hands get down to my right hip and I haven’t twisted and sent my hands out at the ball. Even if I end up catching it a little fat or a groove or two thin because I was late to turn. I am OK with it as long as my hands get down.

Played nine today. Just went out trying to make a swing that had the feels of what I am working on. I would give it a C- at best. The best swing came on the 9th hole, 220 yard par 3, downwind. I finally made a swing where I felt the pause, and the arms down stuff like I practice. I hit the 4 iron about 215 yards, it rolled just off the back of the green about 20-Ft from the pin.

I might play 10 yards shorter on every iron shot, and make that pause swing, cause I can still hit it about 90-95% the distance.

Distance wedges or 3/4 wedges are going to different. Shanked two of them today trying the pause, arms down stuff. Might spend a bit of time looking at the video on those shots specifically.

Just exaggerating the crap out of sending the club head back and behind me in the downswing.

just trying to learn how to feel the club head working down back and under my hands into impact. It’s been a battle against the steepening pattern.

most of the time, as soon as I initiate torso, turn the right hand just wants to twist over the left and steep in the club to send the club out towards the ball.

1. Back swing looks better and it’s getting easier to not have to think as much about it. Lots of maintaining the hands in front of my torso as I turn.

2. From A2.5 to A5, its juts trying to flip the wrists over and drop them down. Trying to keep the right palm up as much as possible.

Then pray I can turn to hit the ball.

Matt, you still have to make a backswing. How much hip and chest turn is in that video right there?

You're a smart guy. You're doing too much here.

IDK, a full turn. That is what it's feeling like. When I shallow the club, it ends where It ends. Should I crank the torso more around?  I'll check a face-on to make sure, but it's not like I am trying to make partial backswings.

The day has finally come, when I am getting comments on not making a long enough backswing. 🤣

too much of what?

Here is my typically routine....

1) I usually start out just doing position work. The backswing stuff we work on. Turn to A2.5-ish, shallow to A4, pause, arms down to A6. Then, slight pump drill and hit the ball.

2) I do some pause at A4 and arms down and try to hit ball from A4 instead of A6

3) I do some full swing stuff, trying to blend it all together. Checking video to see if I am actually keeping the club shallow or not. If not, then I go back to trying to train the downswing with the stuff we worked on. I try to blend it all together again, and check video.

What am I missing here? I do the stuff we worked on. I'll keep it at, it's all I can do. Just hope it changes.

Sorry for trying to find a feel that keeps the club shallow..
