The following is from Amy Mickelson:

Thanks for the link, I missed that bit of the story somehow. Never met her myself but Amy is well known and much liked by many in the development where I live. She used to work at the club in some capacity I think (I'm not a member, play there rarely).

“When he hit that shot,” Amy said, “we were heading to the car. I actually started crying at the house on 12. That’s when I saw him take control.” Heady stuff. What a gal ....

As a fan, I am glad Phil took that shot whether he drilled it (which he did) or bonked. That one shot provided more excitement for me than the rest of the tournament. As a fan, I appreciated that Phil risked losing to put on a show.

Come on, really?! Tiger holing out for eagle. Phil going eagle, eagle almost eagle. AK sinking putts all day long on Sunday shooting 7under. KJ looking more solid than solid and threatening on Sunday. Fred Couples, Tom Watson at the top of the leaderboard after the opening round. I was pissed that I missed Sunday at Augusta last year, and never thought I'd see another final day like it. But boy was I wrong. All four days this year was exciting and action packed. Way to go 2010 Masters!

It really was shot of the tournament for me. The guts it takes to take that one on are just astounding. I still can't believe it came out how it did. It's a shame he missed the putt, but that doesn't take anything away from how incredible that shot was.

If he hadn't of pulled that shot off, he could've easily dropped a couple of shots, leading to him giving Westwood a chance to catch him.

totally agree certainly the shot of the masters this year, & one of the best approach shots of all time.
tho tiger at the 16th in '05, larry mize chip in against the shark & seve's shot from the car park are also well on any list of best ever shots...imo
