Personally, I think I'd rather see Haney work with just a regular "Joe" mid to high handicapper and see what he could do with that. I'd be more interested to see if he could take a 20 hc and turn him around.

But seriously, what happens when you take two of the most idiotic people in their fields, and put them together? The Haney Project - Rush Limbaugh. Rush is a bloated gasbag, he's got more hate than Thurmond x Hitler². He is to athletics what McDonalds is to fine dining. I can foresee very, very bad things already.

If they agree on politics the show will be unwatchable. But if they get into some sort of political squabble while working on takeaway or something it might turn out kind of funny. Still, the show would probably be better with a different teacher and student.

I think the thing that made the Barkley episodes so good is that the average golfer can relate to a guy that struggles with his game. The average golfer in America struggles to break 100 on a consistant basis. I would rather watch some guy try to drop 10 strokes then watch somebody like Ray Romano bitch & whine about not being able to break 80.

That may be the only redeemable element the show may have. If Hank could relentlessly criticize Rush's game using ad hominem political barbs, something interesting might actually happen.

i understand that but it's not hard to turn a 20 handicap around...

but i think would be great is take a scratch golfer and try to get him to be able to qualify for the tour. now that'd be really really fun

I'm looking forward to Rush and I think he'll do amazing things for the Golf Channel and maybe even golf in general. First, you know he's going to talk about it on his radio show which has like 12 million listeners. So that'll pump ratings for the show. In fact, I bet it beats Barkley's Project. Also, many of his listeners are probably golfers. Should be great for ad revenue pricing for GC.

Rush is a decent golfer anyway. Probably much better than Ray and surely better than Chuck. Ray just isn't funny. He reads from writers and didn't deliver on the Project. Rush ad libs for a living. And Chuck is just naturally funny. I think Rush's show will be very entertaining. He gets a chance to pontificate. Haney hopefully won't be on strike three of the Project.

Actually, Haney is the biggest buffoon out there. For such a great teacher, his students didn't seem to learn jack. And now Tiger can't pull it together so he bailed. I don't see what the big deal is about Haney. Looks like any other teaching pro.

On a separate note, does anyone know if they get paid to teach the pros? I read an interview with Haney and I got the impression that they basically trade out "coaching" the pros in exchange for the publicity it brings them. Haney can charge more for being Tiger's coach...that's his pay. Is that right?

They just announced that he would be on the show during the US Open. I would be surprised if they have started filming yet.

I know Butch charged Tiger. As for other people, I'm not sure, but I would guess that they all charge money.

I enjoyed the Ray Romano one missed a few of Barkley but did like what I saw. Limbaugh promos look good but I doubt the show will be like the promos suggest. Just usually how promos for reality shows go, enhance the drama and conflict but it doesn't really end up being that bad. Bottom line I enjoy the format and will watch regardless.

I won't be watching this because I hate Hank Haney.

Rush Limbaugh is the one that calls Obama a communist all the time? That guy is hilarious. Passionate lefties and righties are both douchebags.

I personally have no interest in watching this show mainly because the first  two shows were mediocre at best, and this one is not going to be any better.

Limbaugh represents a demographic that the golfing industry relies upon to prevent a repeat of Japan...95% of memberships lost since their economic meltdown in 1990...and we are only two years into ours...

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
