Yeah-was a big incentive in moving back to Tucson from Western New York (great golf, but only half the year). Only thing I don't like is the hard dirt in all the traps out here, but it's a small price to pay for the availability and diversity of courses around here, at extremely reasonable prices. The heat doesn't bother me, so I can play nearly anywhere here during the summer for less than $40. I'm playing Arizona National (one of Golf Digest's Top 100 public) a few years ago, for $15 tomorrow. I did some training for my job 5 years ago up in Scottsdale, Peoria, Tempe, and Chandler-usually stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Scottsdale. I love Scottsdale, and depending how my job hunting goes later this year I may end up in the Phoenix area. I haven't golfed up there yet, but I hear it's absolutely top-notch.

It is where I learned to golf, and mostly where and how I fell in love with the game! There are so many courses to choose from. Each and every course has it's own ups and downs.

The only thing I didn't like about some of the cheaper courses was how hard the greens get in the afternoon.....like cement painted in John Deere Green!

I have the cleveland cg15s. I love them, can spin a ball if i choose to or let it roll. Never really had the ability to choose. I usually would have a ball check but still roll out with my old set but these are much more sensitive to different types of contact. I highly prefer them to any other wedge i have used and i will be buying an extra set before the end of the year.

That is the truth-no getting away with mid-range or lower spin balls here in Arizona, at least in the summer. Need the urethane to hold the green!

This season I switched from the Cleveland CG 14s (54* 58*) to Oil can finished Vokeys (56* 60*) Until this year I have only played Cleveland wedges and now I wonder why I ever started with them instead of the Vokeys. I hit better shots, and the ball checks up perfectly.

    • Keyword there was "yesterday" lol. At least it's going to be competitive now.
    • Well, they are. 😳 😄
    • Ehh, it was kinda bad yesterday. Especially from the European side.  Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott, Sungjae, and Bezuidenhout combined for 4 birdies yesterday... Theegala wasn't good from the US side either.
    • Yah, a little over the top barking behind SS's back and walking away before he putted out (that is straight up poor form IMO), etc. Seems to be trying to punch above his weight class. But then on the same note it's hard to stay awake for a couple of hours of telecast outside of this no? The golf is not bad but there's no soul and that's not the player's fault.  I read something about him 'blaming the Canadian crowd' for their Day 1 plight but that also seems to be a bit of a writer's distortion of what he said as to me it seems he is simply asking the crowds to get a bit more involved. That's fair. Ya' know, the positive, loud energy these type of events need and feed off of. My two cents.
