Well, just watching the sunday coverage. the commentators are saying Tiger had his Cameron on the practice green an hour prior to his round. looks like it only took 3 days to switch back.

O boy - this method thingy seems to suck hard

What a PR desaster for Nike - who is gonna buy these things now (esp at that price) - you probably find them soon at Walmart for 20$/piece .

Looks like he's putting as poorly as with the Nike to me. We'll see the Nike in the bag again soon.

I predict he'll next switch to either a long putter, or go with the right-hand only stroke Mike Hulbert used to use.

hes got to be misreading the greens or something. He never used to miss his spot. At some point you have to own up to the fact that its you missing the putts and correct what you are doing wrong.

The reason for putting a Method in his bag is the speed of the greens, which he many times has said is some of the slowest he's seen there.

Would be fun if he picked up on the style of KJ recently, saddleback.

The Golf Channel would have a 3 hour special report if he did.

hes missing a lot of putts inside 10-12 feet. Hes either not hitting his line (possible) or hes reading greens poorly(more probably, especially with him complaining about "making nothing")

I know you can hit perfect putts that dont go in because of small inconsistencies in the green, but hes starting to come off like hes obsessed with ball striking and sort of leaving putting up to luck.

He´s still putting the same slow greens, now with his SC? That doesnt make sense.

If you actually want to switch putters for slower greens, you would use some kind of mallet putter to have more force, not just switch from a blade to a blade putter. So Tiger reasoning for switching to a Nike blade in the first place is kind of flawed.

Too bad for him his ballstriking never was the superb thing in his game, but his putting.

he changed because the nike had a firmer insert on it.

He didn't want a massive difference.

Exactly, he was EASILY the best putter in the world since 99. He knows better than me, but it just seems like hes blowing it off. "Im making nothing" Maybe hes not hitting it close enough to the pins anymore? Or hes misreading greens. To me if you were missing your line youd say YOU putted poorly. If you just chalk it up to nothing going in, you are either too far away or not reading greens well enough.

If he reads it wrong, it could also be because of the speed. Changing putter, putting on relatively slow greens compared to what he is used to. The ball doesn't behave the same when the greens are not as fast, it takes less break. I still think his biggest problem is putting the ball in the wrong places, which lead to more bogies and less birdies. Having to save par and taking bogies does something to your head. It is easier to make a birdie from 10 feet if you are hitting the greens in the right place most of the time, not finding pot bunkers and tall grass. When he plays well, he putts well.

Number of putts this weekend: 32, 32, 35, 27. Of course, on the last round, he hit only 10 greens, compared to 17, 13, 13. Less greens means more off-green putting or chipping and less total putts.
