Do you feel for this guy -- missing a 3 footer to get into a playoff with Bettencourt in Reno?

This guy personifies the allure of golf to me.....by all accounts he is a fringe player on the tour, bouncing between the Nationwide and PGA tour for a few years....he has just turned 40 years old and continutes to plug away (has had a horrible year on the Nationwide this year, missing 8 of 10 cuts)...

For most guys, this may not be a big deal but this guy has a friggen degree in Economics from YALE -- he could obviously be making much, much more money with that degree than he is on tour (with added job security, no travel, hotels, away from the family, etc.).

But, in the end, the guy just keeps plugging away at it.........

I feel for him. Hit a beauty on 18 and then choked on the put. That is definitely a situation I have been in. Sucks for him, propbably will be a long time before he is in that position again.

You have never been in that position. How do you know he choked? The camera angle foreshortens things so that a good putt can look pulled. He certainly doesn't think he choked.

Then why is it, when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine, he sounds like such a dummy?  Isn’t Bryson DeChambeau supposed to be smart? That’s his schtick, isn’t it? He studied physics at SMU. His nickname is the “Mad Scientist.”  He can talk endlessly about training his brain to find the proper balance between the “parasympathetic and sympathetic states.” Turns out that’s bunk. DeChambeau is a dummy. Indeed, he is the worst kind of dummy, the kind that likes to pretend he is smart. You know the type, don’t you?
    • I don't know if it can be repaired and if it's even worth repairing. That said, the metal in the dented area has been severely stretched so it will need to be shrunk to get it back. I think you're on the right track with heat and cold but I see a couple of potential issues. First, I'm not certain a heat gun will heat a small enough area and, second, it actually needs to "bubble" out a bit in the opposite direction of the dent - if that makes sense. I think you can get it to come back some but I don't think it'll "pop" back with the rounded shape it should have. Good luck and please let us know how it goes.
    • Hi Everyone, I haven't responded in a while because I started taking lessons and I wanted to see how they pan out.  I've improved greatly, though I've only been using my pitching wedge and 7 iron so far.  I've used both my blades with the stiff shafts and my "game improvement" irons with regular shafts. and the flight trajectory and distance is the same.   I just thought I'd give an update since I haven't replied in a little while.  Thanks.
