This video was taken about 5 hours after a recent lesson. The teaching pro wasn't great, considering I was able to book him for a time only a day in advance, but he did get me going in the right direction. After about 1-2 hours of looking over footage and correcting myself, these were two of the better shots I came up with. I know I still have a lot of work, i still have a slight hitch and my head moves a little too much, but I'll keep self-correcting myself and hopefully keep posting videos. Both were with a 7 iron

How old are you? I'm not gonna judge your index, since I've seen guys with a lot worse moves and lower indexes and there are some guys here that hit all the positions but can barely generate enough power to crack an egg. Maybe your index is a junior one - like some 12 year old tae kwon do "black belts" I've seen who would be better off running away if challenged by their 13 year old sister who plays rep soccer. Anyway, all joking aside, you look reasonably athletic, and it sounds like you have at least a vague idea what you need to work on - keep at it.

yea I agree. You look really young and you are on the right path to becoming a good player and a single digit handicap. Just keep at it with lessons etc but most of all have fun out there while you are playing. Dont worry too much about handicap at your age, just focus on fundamentals and hitting the ball correctly. You have a really good advantage by getting the fundamentals down at a young age and as you get older more distance and athletic ability will come and you will shoot low scores.

Pretty much the same stuff going on, just not quite as bad as before. Read over all the comments and work on those things. Play and practice in shoes.

    • Reviving this old thread as it seems most relevant to my question on "what is OB". I was playing a casual round by myself yesterday early in the AM. I pull my tee shot that lands near a road and then rolls across the road to the far side. I tee another up and land near the fairway. I was going to forget about the first tee shot, buy a man taking an early morning stroll points out where my ball ended up. I take a look and it is a great lie. I put it to 15 feet with my 54*, just miss my birdie putt and have a tap-in for par. Or do I? Here is the plan view of the hole: There are no white stakes anywhere, so I didn't think anything of it at the time. Here is a street view: Now I picked up my 2019 version of the Rules of Golf and found this  2.1 Course Boundaries and Out of Bounds: Golf is played on a course whose boundaries are set by the Committee. Areas not on the course are out of bounds. The second sentence leads me to believe that the ball was out of bounds as it was not on the course. It is unusual for me to be there, but lots of people wind up over there. I have a two-day tournament coming up here, so I want to be prepared. I suppose I could inquire in the clubhouse about the composition of the "committee" and then ask them, but short of that what does this community think?

    • This is a fun leaderboard. I don't feel particularly vested in anyone specifically albeit we all know one man is looking like he will most probably put this championship to sleep by the time the day is over today. On a different note, I've changed my tune on BDC in the last year or so. I found myself applauding and genuinely happy for him for making the cut yesterday. Iffff a LIV guy wins this year I would rather it be him. Unlikely Scottie who seems to have supreme control of all his levers, he lives a bit more on the edge and yet has the perseverance and might I say, infectious positivity of a small time hustler. Dude just keeps hammering away. Love it.
