Yale (New Haven Ct.) has a beautiful course. It is a old style course that was cut through the woods. I played it about 20-25 times during the 1990's when a buddy of mine was doing all the asbestos removal throughout the campus. The pro hooked us up with tee times almost anytime we wanted. Its not real long, and not as hilly as many other courses in the area. Some of the best greens that I ever putted on.

I played the U Maryland course this spring. I was pretty nice and they have done a lot of work on the course and club house. Staff was very friendly. Being an "older" Boston area guy, I would recommend heading south if you want to play more than March to November.

If you do choose U Maryland, remember to "Fear the Turtle"!

Rutgers golf course looks very nice. I'm playing there tomorrow. Yipee!

If you never played there before, make sure your entire group is there early. I've seen guys turned away for showing up 5-10 minute before their tee time.

Well. If you can come to DC area, UMD @College Park has a nice course. For the layout wise, it's the one of kind good course. I played there 5-6 years ago first time and amazed how nice its layouts are but management got terrible so the condition was more like avg. managed muni. courses. BUT.. They had renovated the course around 2007-09 gradually and hosted 2009, 2010 Nationwide's Melwood Prince William Classic. Still not cream of top condition but much better. I'm playing there this coming Saturday morning. I may add few updates on the course condition. UMD students get a huge discount to play there :)
