So after a two week layoff from running because of a pulled muscle in my back, a buddy that runs a LOT asked me to go for a quick run at lunch! We headed out and I just followed him the whole way! We got back to my work and he asked what my quickest 3.5 mile time was. I told him about 40 minutes. He looked at is watch and informed me we'd just done 3.6 in 35 minutes!!!!! I was amazed as I have been stuck at about a 10.20 mile for the last few months!!!!! Anyway, just had to tell someone!!

Cool! I just started running with my wife. We are signed up for a couple of 5k's and then a half marathon in December. I have never done much running but it's pretty cool. If I can get through the 5k runs, I will be pretty happy and pumped to train for the half. We have been following a program called "From the couch to 5k" and it has been going pretty good. We get through the workouts pretty easy. Yesterday we get to the gym and the treadmills are all taken, so I said "Let's just go outside and run." WOW!!! What a difference that is! I can't wait until it cools off a bit so we can hit more outside runs.

I actually LOVE running in the heat!! My favorite time to run is 1:00 p.m. I'm not a runner by any means but I love running in the heat!!
